I grew up in Fargo. Went to Shanley, South High and NDSU. As a former resident I wanted to thank you for your work putting this together. I enjoyed it very much. Brought back a few memories. I remember walking down Broadway a few blocks away heading south towards Shotwell Floral with a couple old friends the day it blew up back in 68? I always thought if we hadn't stopped in front of the Fargo Theater that day to read to read the posters we could have been right next to it when it blew.
First of all, Fargo FTW! Second, this is so cool. I often look at the old pictures hanging around town, but don't know where they were taken. I love seeing the past merged into the present. It seems I'm one of the few of the younger generation these days who appreciates the past, not new modern stuff. Thank you very much for this. :-)
I lived in Fargo for 40 years, from 1967 until 2007. I miss it more than I can ever say. This video and all of the familiar places shown, and the Fargo history I knew so well, made me cry. This was beautifully done. Thank you.
WOW! Great job! I love how you've merged the historical images with current ones for a cool 'bleed through' effect - very unique! It's fascinating to me to see current locations and compare them with what used to be there, or how the buildings and streets looked.
Oh, urban renewal: you were not the friend you made yourself out to be. Why did you take our Carnegie Library building? And why did you think that the Lightowler building on Main was a good idea? Give us back our Waldorf and our Grand Lodge of Masons, and take back your homogeneity. And then take back EVERYTHING that you did in Moorhead so that we can start over.
With help from our local newspaper, I was able to get the OK for the photographs in the last 60 years or so. Some they had in the archives, the ones 70-110 years old, I found at our local College Archives and old postcards in antique stores. I do have some video footage of me getting the shot, and also videoed the computer screen when working in Photoshop, I'll post those at a later time.
dan..do some more !!

This is amazing! I've looked through so many of the old photos of Fargo, but they always seemed so distant. You've managed to change that. Congrats!

You need to do a video on how you did this and where your older photos came from.
