Would like to know if you have videos on the making of jigs, and other "heady" aids to facilitate the different processes and manouvers necessary to built the many items you do ???
Have you ever found it necessary to execute something whereby you've had to have a jig enabling you to cut compound angles in both the miter and bevel attitudes ? What I'm thinking about is the process wherein you have to cut side pieces for the construction of a tapered / flared bucket or flower pot . You might called these pieces "staves". I'm wondering what you dedicated mind would conceive as a possible jig .
@SLLEWWG Hmm.....That sounds like a fun challenge. Rather than a jig, I might just calculate the appropriate angles and try to make the cuts as needed. I would likely use Sketchup to mock it all up and then try to get the machines set up as close as possible. The only jig I might use is a tapering jig for the tablesaw.
@norwegian1967 If you are talking about the torsion box assembly table, yes we have two videos on that. Not sure if I posted them here on YouTube but you can always go to my website and look in the Projects section of the Video Archive.
we make alot of nice stuff in this show but id like to see a gutair being made and a longboard being made i always wanted to make my own long bord and guitar i was wondirng if u can make them
well i understand u rely on qualty tools but would be fun for traditinal carpetry fans to see how projects were done without modern power tools also would be nice too show some jappenees carpentry styles just a sugestion nothing more
Another thing you mentioned is about "electrical safety" and that is a GOOD THING! Power surge protection is a must for all things, so always buy the best! As a former metal pounder (and bass player) I have my home protected with state of the art spike protection, and Furman "Conditioners" (and battery back UPs) for my sensitive electronics.
There should be a FEDERAL law against that! ;/ DOGS are to be served with raw onions and mustard, (Like I prefer) ...sometimes Chile, cheeses,and/ or Sauerkraut and bug parts! NEVER KETCHUP!
You have a nice face,, but if you asked for KETCHUP on a dog in NYC, your nose would be pushed into the back of yer skull by the street vender! :)
It's just not proper!
Beef dog ON A GOOD BUN with raw onions and decent mustard tabasco sauce if needed, and a Tums!
To be honest, I would be more concerned about the bacteria on the street vendor's hot dog, lol. Hey, I'm from Trenton and I grew up with ketchup on my hot dogs. And that's just the way it is! :)
As a 20+ year presenter I would give you an A+. I'm going to watch more of your work. Man, I wish you lived close to me; I'd be over at your shop all the time!
Getting involved in making a piece like this comes down to getting some time under your belt. Build up your skill level so that you can make every component, then simply put the components together. Im over simplifying, but I dont have much room to work with here, lol. Time invested is skewed because of all the filming I did. Without filming, I suspect it would be approx. 3-4 weeks.
marc, you're the man!!! How can I get involved in the creation of amazing works of art like this? And, how many hours would it take to construct a piece like this?
I love your videos. What so many other woodworkers fail to focus on is the design process, and the importance of researching design ideas and being inspired by what others have done. One of my art professors often said "You can't work from a vacuum." I look forward to seeing the rest of the Gadget Station!
The only thing I can think of adding to this, a drawer for the Manuals.

@aurfc2 Thanks man. I actually don't have detailed plans for this particular project. But most other projects we do, I will have plans for.

@SLLEWWG Usually, if I do a jig video, I'll put it right into the video the jig is used in just to keep it simple.

I really enjoy your videos. Do you have a video, or information on making a work table - like the one in the beginning of this video?

While I own a number of planes and saws, I don't really own any antique or vintage tools.

I like yer t-shirts.. butt... if you put ketchup on a hot dog, I'll loose all respect for you, and have "Uncle Vito" pay you a naughty visit!

Well, Trenton is an odd place... but at least they knew how to make "Taylor Ham!"
Then again, some folks put ketchup on eggs!
And the bacteria on the streets KILLED the crap in the food! :)
Moving on.. yer woodworking videos are STUNNINGLY great! I constanly look at them, as you have a great perspective and knowlege.

Sounds like those lines Joe Piscapo used in the movie "Johnny Dangerously"
Danny Vermin: "You shouldn't grab me, Johnny. My mother grabbed me once... ONCE!"
Danny Vermin: "You shouldn't hang me on a hook, Johnny. My father hung me on a hook once. Once!"
Danny Vermin: "You shouldn't have shot me, Johnny. My grandmother shot me once... "

You should do a show on making a server rack or media center unit.
Great video!
