simple: Ovan is the PK known as Tri-edge, because of the 'Sign'-s he leaves (the a shaped thingies). Aura (chibi white little girl) created images of the trhee Azure Knights, Orca, Kite and Balmung, as countermeasure to the AIDA threat. but, since she didn't get the full data of the trhee, they look so corrupted. The reason Kite was named Tri-edge, is because he always appeared just when Ovan made his kill. so people saw Kite and went: "AARGH, TRI EDGE!" ^_^x

Data drain was first made not to kill thing but for aura when all the Phase gained the data they needed aura would data drain the Phases and become to best AI ever so Aura's father would have a real daughter. But Morganna the data queen (Morganna is also the lady singing in the church)stopped the brith of Aura by reprogaming the Phases. The only person to ever have a chance vs her was Helba. But Aura was born so the Phases got orders to kill aura and hold her data. But Kite killed the Phases.

I liked Ovan's handshake thing at the end of this better than the one from the game. ^^;

If you watch both styles and you think about it, since they skipped the scythe part in this version, they villainize Kite more and make Haseo seem more like a victim.

Since Kite gave him a chance to surrender in the game before Data-Draining him, and Haseo took his hesitation as an opening to whip out the scythe, it makes Haseo look more like an impulsive bad-guy.

Simply put, it was bad aim and bad timing. The Data Drain was aimed at Ovan who was standing in the church doorway. Haseo was in the path of the bean and it only got him. In the final version, just as Haseo looses visuals, a shadowy form is seen in the doorway. That is Ovan.

This is the prototype trailer for it. They were basing the entire design off of the .hack//MUTATION series. Then they decided to remake it all and scraped what you see before you. Personally I think they should of kept the design for the Data Drain and Haseos armor for the beginning. Also, if you noticed, they still used the Mutation design of Skeith just with a little edit here or there in the movie.
