This was a most extraordinary film. An Indian Gone With the Wind. Marvelous. I wandered into it by accident one afternoon in NYC and stayed to see it a second time. Went back again with friends. I hope it is released again one day. It deserves the big screen.

ARR has done a VERY good job composing music for this moving song.
it is raga Yaman and good orchestration! Ektara like sound of the metronome is VERY apt he also has very cleverly used the strings cymbals and cascading synthesizers to very good effect
It is actually brilliant lyrics like a Meera Bhajan! actually Meera was a contemporary! It is the Sad lament of a GOPIKA or Radha who is missing Krishna and pines for a reunion! Sufis sang similar ballads!

If you noticed, I did say he was a violent ruler in my previous comment. You r talking about Akbar Vs Hindus in Wars and battles. But unlike others, he was noted to be very just to Hindus when it came to the matters of the state or justice. Stories of Akbar and Birbal are a fine example of this. We come to know that Hindus and Muslims lived in harmony during his reign and he introduced a new Religion which took parts of each Religion including Hinduism and Islam so all could live in peace.

yes he was a violent ruler like all the others before him but let us think of all the positive and new things that he implemented. you can't deny the fact that many hindus praise akbar to this day to be a just king. he even let hindus and rajputs take important positions in his court as ministers. he started his own religion involving hindu and muslim beliefs. he promoted in equal rights to hindus and muslims during his reign. this is what makes him unique and loved by one and all.

The crdit to akbars success goes to Jodhabai completely. From what I have heard, Rajkumari Jodha was able to successfully instigate these values and akbar became the one and only secular Badshah from the Mughal era.

How many did Ashoka kill before he became BUDDHIST? Akbar's policies created unmatched wealth and stability for India.
