Brazil has the second largest Black population of any country in the world, and Zoe Saldana's country, the Dominican Republic, is mostly Black. There are Black people throughout the Caribbean and South America, and they are there mainly due to the same reason Blacks are in the US - the importation of enslaved Africans. Spain and Portugal took the most, by the way. Language does not determine race.

To me, mulatto is any black person with mixed ancestry, regardless of phenotype. This is the reason why AA's are so diverse in appearance. But the bottom line for me is, I don't make distinctions between the two. All afrodescendants in the Americas are Black to me, regardless of phenotype/ancestry. We're all one people.

To all those that obviously need some knowledge who say there is a difference between African and African-American, the response to that is no not really. If you are African descent i.e. a Black person then your ancestry MUST COME FROM AFRICA. In reality we(Black around the world are the same). We may be born in different areas of the world but WE ARE ALL CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH.
There are Africans that are lighter than a lot of African Americans. The reality is whatever beauty African Americans have it doesn't come from the white it comes from the Black. I often hear a lot of people trying to credit whites with the beauty that Black/African American is, and no matter what that credit can not be given to whites. Our Color, lips, Butt come from our African Ancestry not from anywhere else, because you can't give what you don't have...
In addition, giving credit to whites for Black beauty is just another tool used by some to separate the Black race from the Blackness that we are. I for one, African-American, I NOT MIXED WITH WHITE and being me not being mixed with white or anything else for that matter doesn't make me any less Beautiful. To all those that obviously need some knowledge who say there is a difference between African and African-American, the response to that is no not really. If you are African descent i.e. a Black person then your ancestry MUST COME FROM AFRICA. In reality we(Black around the world are the same). We may be born in different areas of the world but WE ARE ALL CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH.

There are Africans that are lighter than a lot of African Americans. The reality is whatever beauty African Americans have it doesn't come from the white it comes from the Black. I often hear a lot of people trying to credit whites with the beauty that Black/African American is, and no matter what that credit can not be given to whites. Our Color, lips, Butt come from our African Ancestry not from anywhere else, because you can't give what you don't have...

In addition, giving credit to whites for Black beauty is just another tool used by some to separate the Black race from the Blackness that we are. I for one, African-American, I NOT MIXED WITH WHITE and being me not being mixed with white or anything else for that matter doesn't make me any less Beautiful. wow you sure are defensive, i didnt state that the beauty came from the white side in the mixed people, thats subjective cause beauty is subjective anyway.I only stated they looked different, and its not just the lighter skin that is different, its facial features and eye colour as well.
But i might as well say now that i personally think most of the beauty comes from the white side, IMO

I have to say this because what your saying is true, black people have good genes. We truly know how to age with grace. I remember talking to a black man who was 74, but he looked 50. Even my late father before becoming ill, favored the same. We don't need to go through extremes like the dominant culture does to stay beautiful beyond out years.
