i just LOVE this group...music stands the test of time...but yes...worst hair do ever...he made great strides with Elemental....another great song :-)
Thanks for posting this. I read most of the hair comments about Roland and I must say, I don't think it's as bad as his hair now. I don't really get his grungy/rock/metal style of today. But he is still a genius to me nonetheless.
I guess unlike you, this song and the rockpalast performance of this song and memories fade made me fall in love with this band on the first hearing. I used to like them... but not as much as now. I mean, I'm obsessed to the point of ruining my savings!!!
I agree the hurting was the first Cd i ever owned and still have a copy (worn out a few )Still sounds fresh and Good 10/10 thanks for the post been a fan for more then 25 yrs keep up the Great work
The Hurting is one of those albums that once you've listened a couple of time, it will never be too far from reach. Of course the iPod helps keep it closer! Thanks for posting this.
I always thought his hair from the Hurting era was cool, but when they started making Songs from the Big Chair his hair became as you said one of the worst of the 80s.
Also, check out Roland's solo albums. They are totally awesome. He needs to get his butt off the couch (he likes watching TV) and make music. He is too good to let go to waste.
Absolutely beautiful song...strong bass, drum beats...strong vocals and powerful message...you cannot help but get the chills and the words to this ballad...I LOVE IT!!!
Not only do I LOVE Tears for Fears but I love the fact that they play the songs the way as it is recorded on their albums. No over improvising and BS. Played just the way we love it! This song is a BI-POLAR persons theme in life. Listen to the words, you'll understand why.......
IS THIS THE START OF THE BREAKDOWN?[what the hair lads?haha]ive still got this concert on vhs "in my minds eye"1983 IM GETTIN OLD BUT THE MUSIC NEVER WILL N01 BAND!
yes i still have the video as well , man it makes me feel old but wow, did i love The Hurting, it was just q perfect album seemed to speek to me. wow this brings back memories.

have to disagree on your comment. I loved it the
first time I heard it. One of the most underrated and
relevant bands of the 80's imo.
thanks for sharing.
