@BlastbeatPhilosopher yeah i like the double braced stands alot. I have a few, but i think if you want to get new hardware you should just stick to pearl or maybe go with tama. Tama has some really durable stuff but the stands are heavy as fuck. hard to move around quickly.
By the way. If you do get your hands on a mapex stands keep the rubber felt replacements. They are perfect for the bottom of the cymbal and then all you have to do is put felt on the top.. or not. no top felt more sustain.
@BlastbeatPhilosopher the pedals they make are pretty decent but i would stick to other brands when it comes to stands. i have some old mapex stands and they are alright if you replace the felts but the new stuff is really not great
Noo offense but Mapex craftsmanship quality is horrible. Idk about now but all drums made from 5 years ago or more have ALOT of minor problems. Anyways, the good side is their used shells are stinking cheap :D. lol if ur buying new, might as well buy pearl or Tama or Gretsch.
omg i hate those mapex endorses... i mean... as a professional musician they should be able to talk about drums for 5 minutes without reading everything from a sheet while looking like a total idiot....
@anarcy7777u if u can afford the saturn id get that cos its obviously better cos its the model up from the meridian (unless im mistaken) me myself play meridian drums and they are pretty sweet
They are not really made of felt but a small rubber "barrel" that is a really cool feature as you can change the sound dramatically. Dude has 2 great hands for sure I say he's a player...but what would I know?...only been playing since I was 6.
I am a Mapex Saturn freak as they sound & record better than anything...well Yamaha Oak is a killer set for about the same $.

This guy is the hugest fucking tool of all time. No taste. All chops. I would love to just smack this guy in the face with a 15 inch black rubber cock.
@avedisdrummer989 it is obvious that he is a tool. just look at the heads he is using, pinestripes? he is torturing that kit, make it 2 15 inch black rubber cocks.
I had this coment on another video, but this is really one doubt of mine.
Why the 20' bass drum comes whith the "hole" on, for the ton holders, and the 22' does not? (much better, isn´t it?). Here in Brazil, ot was a bit more expensive, though (with the 20' bass drum).
i cant wait to get this for x-mass, i would recommend putting a Evans EMAD bass head on it though to give it a more powerful bass drum sound, best head ive ever used!!!
@maddangryrobot felt vs rubber does make sence if we take the pedal beaters for example imo :) not "create my own cymbal sound" but at least gives you options on sustain :)
@maddangryrobot I dont understand... are you disagreeing with him? You did know cymbal felts have a lot to do with the overall sound of your cymbal. Right?...? I dont think he meant you could turn a splash into a china or something. But You definitley can change you cymbals tonal personality though.

O, now I see, there is this model with the holders up the bass drum, either.
I gess the "Studioease" config is the only one wich the bass drum has no "hole"
lucky me!

i love mapex drums but this PR stuff is total BS.

@maddangryrobot well thats not a lie, if you tigh the suport of the stand, and it will sound different, anyways what sobel said is not 100% true

though it sounds good, all drumkits sound good with mics. You need like one condenser or something for a good test
