My first instinct was to look for an online priest or anybody, really.
I saw a long list of websites. Baptist, Lutheran, etc.
I settled on Catholic (still don't know why, out of the choices). I chatted with them on the website. GREAT people. Willing to talk at the drop of a hat to help someone they didn't even know. I know now this was no coincidence. Whether it's a sign to be Catholic, or to just be happy, I don't know.
Francis (Jake) Nolan - God bless him... We prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy over him and ask our Brothers in Christ and Cardinal John Henry Newman to intercede on his behalf. After succumbing to Septic Shock from an infected dialysis port, the MRSA infection while it is now out of his blood stream is still in his spine and is causing him lower paralysis and has left him exhausted. He is out of the ICU now and we are praying for a miracle cure to his spinal cord damage. Praise God!
After 50 years as a protestant I came Home to Rome in the last two weeks...it was a long difficult road, but well worth the effort to be part of Historic Christianity....And to give up the rebellion and intellectual dishonesty found in 21st century Protestant Fundamentalism.
i believe, in Indonesia never would happened like LIna Joy and Rahman in Malaysia and in Afghanistan. But sometimes for a drama education in church. It can happened.
A few more...St Edith Stein (Jewish to Catholic), Henry Ford Sr., and all those who Bishop Fulton Sheen evangelized and brought Home to the Catholic Church....It is difficult to be a Catholic now, so I thank you for this inspiring video.
i use to tell people that showing devotion to our blessed mother was wrong, and left the caholic church, only to come back a stronger catholic than ever before. and I love our blessed mother with all my heart and pray the rosary everyday and sing salve regina after every prayer
@gangstanikes Pius XII wrote a pastoral letter condemning Nazism. While Pope he protected Jews. They rant about his silence but had he spoke out like everyone wanted him to far more Jews and Catholics would have been killed. 3 million Catholics were killed by the Nazis. The Jews planted over 800,000 trees in Isreal in honor of the CC's efforts to save Jews in WWII. Check out the Catholic Answers Website for more info.
After slowly coming to the realisation that indeed Jesus founded a true & living Church on the apostles which through apostolic succession is still here on earth today preaching the true Gospel I was baptised into the Catholic Church on the 24th of May, 2009. It was the most beautiful day of my life & I thank God everyday for the blessing of being united to Jesus through prayer & the Sacraments.
I came here for info. Someone trying to defend atheism and attacking Christianity said the Catholic church supported Hitler and Mussolini. Can anyone tell me the truth?
@wwhit2001 ask them for more details about when the Church allegedly supported Hitler & Mussolini & if you'd like to send me a private message and we can try to answer the person's objections together. Remember that even if some people supported those regimes we follow Jesus & His Church's teaching & that is what makes us Catholic, not the actions of a small minority within that Church.
@wwhit2001 The Catholic Church did neither, since it was not in the position to do so. Mussolini greatly reduced the size of Vatican City to what it is today. As for Hitler, he was mocking Catholic priests in Germany whilst pushing for his pagan agenda, with all those Nordic Runes, etc. Although both of them were Catholic, does not mean that the Church supported their beliefs. If the Church was outspoken on either side, it would be in a worse position, so it did its very best to walk the line...
Help Please. Loads of My Friends are Protestant. One keeps slagging me off Because of My Religion (Not directly, But being insulting) Can someone Please tell me something that will Make impact and Make her stop. She comes from a Very Bigoted Area. I just don't want to feel as If I have to change. I want to Feel Proud of who I am. Thanks, It took Courage To do this.
WELCOME HOME BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! Let us pray for one another, that we might persevere in this valley of tears until the Lord Jesus calls us into eternity.
After watching this, I always feel my heart warm up and an uplifting feeling begins to swell... anybody else feel the same? I've also read the stories of the converts listed here. You guys gotta Google and wikipedia them.
@June061944DDay Yeap, watching this gets me sentimental. I was a catholic doubting Thomas. Stubborn and locked away. I couldn't understand mass and it simply wouldn't sink in. I never accepted other churches and the Protestant propaganda against Catholicism drew me even further away. One good day, tired of being fed up I bought a book by Leo Trece "faith explained" I read and re-read until my heart was drenched in it. I then did all the book instructed and returned home with Joy.
I too converted to the Catholic faith last year when I watched Pope Benedict in the UK on TV.(rec on video) I always liked Pope John Paul but last year I was totally captivated, and finally at The Sacred Heart RC Church in Dereham Norfolk I was Confirmed this Easter. It was a lovely experience for me. This video was beautiful !
I'm a recent convert myself from Anglicanism, of which my confirmation was this past January. The priest who walked me through my spiritual journey said "you do not come to the Catholic Church empty handed. Bring all your gifts, and talents with you. Leave nothing behind." He was so right. I haven't looked back since.
I am a faithful catholic. While I'm sad that there are folks who left for Islam, but its a little racist to say they want to start a war. Yes there are violent Muslims, but their are violent people of all faiths. Hopefully those Muslims have not turned to violence and maybe someday come home to the church. God Bless!

If you know who I am talking about and even if you don't know, please pray for Regina Sweeney, an eleven year old girl, who died on Holy Thursday at 3:37 in the afternoon. She died because of problems in her lungs. She had around eight blood clots! When she was still alive, every night before she went to sleep, she poured holy water on her pillow as an act of love for God, in a family of 12, she could really use your prayers too.
It is so refreshing to see that our faith is growing strong. Especially to those who faced death to receive the Holy Spirit. To all those people who have converted, or in the process, I say Welcome. You are family to me. Even if you do not know me, I consider you a brother/sister of Christ.
Love the vid but please...the music is so AWFUL, why not use sacred, catholic music, there is a treasure trove of beautiful music! Start with Palestrina!
I was amazed when I first heard it. But he didn't convert to Catholicism until after he left office. His wife is Catholic. There are more practicing Catholics in England than there are Protestants.
Nice and honest. I was the same, never thought of people going Catholic, but always the other ways. I became Catholic and as I read the Bible, my faith is only made stronger.
April 23, 2011. This is the day I officially join the Catholic Church! I absolutely cannot wait! (and yes, I was a Protestant before) The day I ceased to be Protestant was quite ironic...October 31...the day Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the doors of the Schlosskirche!
.yes the baptizm of the Holy Spirit is the beginning of a life of victory in God because the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth (John 14: 26).The Holy Spirit is the One who reveals the Love of the Father to you, i thank the Holy Spirit because of what He did for me, now i KNOW NOT BELIEVE that God loves me, theres a difference between knowing and believing ( God told me that in a dream).so if you want the gift, type "speaking in tongues. The baptizm in the Holy Spirit"
re. Tony Blair, it may surprise people that it is still illegal for a Catholic to become Prime Minister of England or King/Queen and quite recently we have had two notable examples of Catholics renouncing their faith when they married members of the Royal Family who were in the line of succession to the throne.
I liked the video and would also say welcome home especially to any of my fellow countrymen or countrywomen from Wales. Cartref yn croesawu! Gogoniant i Dduw yn y Goruchaf!
The Churdh is the only way, because the Head is Jesus Christ himself. He created it and He entrusted her to St. Peter and his sucessors. It is the only place where we can find Jesus Daily in the Holy Sacrament. We must pray for the lost prodigal brothers and sisters, so that they may come home.
i look like a homeless person. i also ride bicycles across usa. recently i went to mass in a very swank city. i stayed in the back not to cause trouble. right before communion i noticed out of the corner of my eye a police man coming towards me. i thought oh no here we go again. he walked right up to me and kneeled down next to me!!!! The Catholic Church is the one true faith, of ALL believers
From Muslim to Protestant to finally home to Catholic church. I'm in the middle of rcia getting a cast-iron catechism. It's great to be arriving home.
I was born Catholic and I am ashamed to admit that I left the Church when I was young, never even went to catechism. Last year I came back home and it is the best decision of my life, today I am attending catechism for confirmation and I am happy.
This is the first YouTube video I have responded to. I too am a Catholic Convert. I was a Protestant Pastor for 10 years. I have taken the difficult journey ...home.
@ajamesh1234 Love our 2000 year old Mother - the Catholic Church...pray for her. Pray for the Sucessor of Peter & the successors of the apostoles in comunion with him - the bishops too. Welcome to the family. Dont forget also to pray for christian unity that in the end may we be one.
You list Tony Blair - who deferred his conversion until after he had resigned the premiership - but omit Henri IV - one of the most surprising of all converts to the Faith, and among the converts who did the most good.
Your so called "true christians" may have a good reason to run away from Catholics or the holocust,
but your "true Christians" had a poor reason to run away from Catholicism. They failed to comprehend that Catholics and Catholicism are not the same. They denounced the faith because of the follower. They could renounced non pious Catholics and still practice Catholicism despite of the pain and risks involved, but they simply saved their skin.
I teared up and got the sniffles when that guy almost got the death sentence, and I almost burst into tears when the granted him asylum in Italy. Good on you, sir, good on you.
While it is often uncharitable and triumphalist for any denomination to flaunt converts in the face of other Christians, this understated and respectful video avoids those pitfalls. All of us, Protestants, Orthodox, Anglicans and Roman Catholics are faced with the relentless pressure of secularism and jihadist elements in Islam. Let us not fight among ourselves but find points of convergence to face common foes.
I am a müslim.Accidentally see this video while surfing.I see a man from afganistan convert Islam to catholism and for that take a death penalty. What a shame I should say. There is no death penalty for leaving Islam or converting to another faith. This is the why afganistan is backward and a huge war land.
If we can get rid of the horrible Novus Ordo Missae I would be a happy Catholic.
Since the V2 council church attendance dropped by 96% in the Netherlands. The only masses well attended in Amsterdam : St. Agnes Tridentine Mass (Uploaded some footage), Krijtberg Jesuit Church Latin NOM mass and the Papagaaichurch in the Kalverstraat, also a Latin NOM mass (Ad o.). The 8 other churches who offer Dutch mass attract on average 30-40 faithfull (in a city of 800.000) That bad is it in W. Europe!
realize that there was not anything more Holy about it. It was started in the 16th century to bring unity in the Church. For 15oo years, the liturgical traditions varied in different regions.
It appears that this idea is born out of rebellion, as it has been over 40 years, and the liturgy is set to change again this year.
In my diocese, 2 Parish's celebrate the Latin Mass
Ok,risking being, omg,BLOCKED,which is simply another form of cencorship/cowardice,I left the catholic church specifically because of it's stance of homosexulaity! I don't need a cult to 'show' me how to worship God.The beauty of God is that He's everywhere, all hearing, all knowing, all loving. So I can talk with Him direct.Just coz we don't follow like sheep, doesn't mean we are any further away from God's love!
Truely great video. 2,000 years and still going strong! We never get a good press, but videos like this show us it's not all doom and gloom. It's the video the prods dont want you to see!
But I'm not sure about Anne Rice, I herd she converted to a "light" catholicism, pro gay, pro choice, pro female priests, and then left the catholic faith again, so sad :(
@coreliandude76 I would openly challenge you to cite anyone of authority in the church who has stated a hatred of gays. Anything from the Vatican? The answer is no. Anything at all that states that the Catholic Church hates gays?
@elcamaras Stalin was a communist he may have been brought up in an Orthodox home but he did not act on behalf of the Orthodox church in his actions, thats like saying Fidel Castro is Catholic. But i agree every group has some bad bunch.
@evozro Definitely. Catholics are the original Christians and have kept the teachings of the first pope, St. Peter, for almost 2000 years. Common sense would tell you that any Protestant religion is astray from true teachings as the Catholic Church was ordered to be made by Jesus himself. "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY church." Matthew 16:18 Yes, His, Jesus' only desired church. How could anyone follow a kidnapper, anti-Semitic, adulterer like martin Luther?
I just watched Ann's explanation. She is really frustrated with all of the debates among the people on homosexuals, feminists, etc, etc... So she has abandoned Christianity to avoid the arguments.
Seems like she is a bit unclear about a great many things. Does she not know that all Christians struggle with sin are sinful people? I guess she is starting her own church which is made up of one member.
Lets see how long that lasts. Perhaps she will come out of that shell some day. Pray for her.
A side note; the only people you see converting to islam are losers. Honestly I can't think of a single famous person except Cat Stevens. The rest always seem to be some disenfranchised angry people and seriously ugly women. And I am not saying this to be rude. Just an observation.
I do see quite a few ppl ( in relative terms) converting to Judaism but rather few Jews converting to anything else. Again, just my observation.
Wonder about converts to Hinduism, Buddhism etc...
I had no idea that many of these people converted to the Catholicism. Bob Hope waited until the last minute, on his death bed. How sad that he missed out on the sacraments all those years. For those that have gone before us - be an example to those that follow and one day the communion of saints will all join in singing Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God
Converted from Presbyterian to Catholic in 1991, which was when my life started to take wing.

MUHAMMAD = CONMAN, not the true prophet even chosen by God
QURAN = WORK OF FICTION with self-contradictory verses
ALLAH = SATAN IN DISGUISE, not God
TRUE GOD = love, compassion, forgiveness, peace, tolerance, freedom, joy, etc.
ALLAH (Satan in disguise) = hatred, vengence, jealousy, war, intolerance, slavery, misery, oppression, etc.
TRUE GOD = honesty always
ALLAH = TIQIYYA = lies, dishonesty and false promises of 72 houris in any heavenly brothel.

It is so refreshing to see that our faith is growing strong. Especially to those who faced death to receive the Holy Spirit. To all those people who have converted, or in the process, I say Welcome. You are family to me. Even if you do not know me, I consider you a brother/sister of Christ.

I was born Catholic and I am ashamed to admit that I left the Church when I was young, never even went to catechism. Last year I came back home and it is the best decision of my life, today I am attending catechism for confirmation and I am happy.

You are still getting it wrong.
Your so called "true christians" may have a good reason to run away from Catholics or the holocust,
but your "true Christians" had a poor reason to run away from Catholicism. They failed to comprehend that Catholics and Catholicism are not the same. They denounced the faith because of the follower. They could renounced non pious Catholics and still practice Catholicism despite of the pain and risks involved, but they simply saved their skin.
marcusangami 11 months ago
Sad that Ann Rice renounced her Catholic faith. Apparently, the people in the Church were not perfect enough for her.

Let us not fight among ourselves but find points of convergence to face common foes.
brassspitoon 1 year ago

Europe!

Not to attack you, rather your comment...
The old liturgy was Changed for a reason.
realize that there was not anything more Holy about it.

So I can talk with Him direct.Just coz we don't follow like sheep, doesn't mean we are any further away from God's love!

coreliandude76 1 year ago
@coreliandude76 I would openly challenge you to cite anyone of authority in the church who has stated a hatred of gays. Anything from the Vatican? The answer is no. Anything at all that states that the Catholic Church hates gays?
kingsmen711 1 year ago
@coreliandude76
While the Church views homsexuality as a sin, it does not hate gays and lesbians.
In fact, I am amazed in my diocese at the outreach to this group.

Is the Catholic Church the real Church?
evozro 1 year ago

Interesting.

Almighty! See you there. Psalm
