i thought i was the only China Crisis fan in the entire world! Glad to see there are more people with incredibly good taste. Most underrated band in the world1
Bought tix for the CC Cavern gigs in December 2011. Hopefully I will be flying from Miami to Manchester, with a short train ride to Liverpool. Been waiting much of my life to see them. Missed them by one day when I traveled to see Peter Coyle and Jem Kelly of TLE reunite at the Phil. It's finally time to stop by to hear Gary and Eddie live. Cross my fingers that I get to say hello to them.
Brilliant. I played China Crisis on radio in the US 1989/1990...before the NAC format died. My entire collection was stolen. I don't have a CD, nor can I find one. Always loved this title though and love that I can watch and listen now. :)
C.C. and not Culture Club although i love them 2,but these cats were highly underrated considering all the great music they put out.Shame on Warner Brothers 4 not getting them on in the U.S.A.
These guys have aged well, compared to some artists. I listened to them back in high school in the 80's and just looked them up on here. Anyone know when this show was?
Yes, I was there at Fort Perch, with my husband & two girls. We are also going to see them at the Cavern Club in December, can't wait..............We love all their tracks and have been a fan since day one!
This is my favourite CC track........they played it at the outdoor gig at Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton on Saturday. Great night...I was in my element!!!!!!!!!
yes, it is a true tune from a band I remember listening to on the FM side back in 1987/88. Don't hear much about them anymore but they are in my mind forever............play on.........
wondering if they might ever tour the USA/Minnesota....Minneapolis or St. Paul
I think this group is so sounding great....such melody and soul.........my favorite group ever, even better than group's of the 60's which I grew up in listening too...........
Can you ask them if they ever finished the promo video for this song back in the 80's .I remember watching an interview with them and it was being "cut".Love to know where it can be found? If you don't mind.
Dios Mio!! It´s incredible!! suenan igual y casi tienen el mismo aspecto y no solo eso, están en la brecha todavía!! they still standing now, uno de mis grupos preferidos en los 80´s, congratulations and thank you very much for posting
Has anybody the original video, where a girl was a photographer in a studio with the guys, I remember it coming out in the 80,s due to it being unfinished only a bit was played.
I would love to!! No way I could though, But it's too bad they couldn't be here to open the two dhows for Steely Dan at the Chicago Theatre..How incredible would that be!? Also, I love your video selections, it seems you and I have many of the same tastes..I'll be subscribing right away! Cheers,
An all time great band. Live and in the studio. They have never done a bad track in all their career since 1979. Catch them whenever you can. Lets hope they tour more again soon. They are on at the Stone music festival in Staffordshire, Saturday 12th July in the square.... We still love you guys.... RIP Kev.... An all time great drummer he was.... By the way they are on stage at 7.00pm....
isley.."flaunt" was a great album, but not a lot to do with Steely Dan..True Walter Becker produced, but my mate gazza johnson told me that he tried harder to introduce them to chemical substances than produce their album..they all sat on their arses in Hawaii for four months, massively overran the budget which led to them being ultimately kicked off Bransons Label.Truth is,they could conjure up melodic music that still stands the test of time in the pub..where most of the songs where formulated
This was always my favourite song by this group, period. And yes i think the steely dan touch on the 'flaunt' album helped bolster the groups popularity for a while. Iam quite a big dan fan myself. If any of you want to check another song that got the Steely Dan treatment, check the song Magic Smile by Rosie Vela(actress/model/singer)from circa 1986,some of you may remember it, but for those of you who dont, its worth listening to, this is a really good cruisin' tune.
I have posted also Gift of freedom - also if anyone is on facebook theres a CC appreciation group - I don't want to post any more videos cos I think if you like them you should buy their DVD (check out Ebay)
i always remember Gary introducing this song on stage at Manchester Apollo in 85 by saying..."this song got to No.1 in my dreams".....mine too!!! love it
Thank you Ranjitb68, this is a classic, and they were such a great band. Nice to see their music immortalised on a new technology like this. Good sound quality too.
My Favourite from China Crisis, I remember when it first came out, their promo video was nearly finished, but I have never seen the full version, from the bits I saw ..it look good, great memories many thanks for posting.
So, a video DOES exist for "You Did Cut Me"? Where and how did you get to see the bits you saw? Just curious. (YouTube is a great forum for finding out stuff!)
We have similar tastes! I like that song from the album as well - but there has been no mention up to this point that "Bigger The Punch I'm Feeling" was ever released as a single or a video was ever made. If you (or anyone else) know more, please respond.
My favorite on the "Flaunt The Imperfection" album which I heard on "smooth jazz" radio stations in Berkely & L.A., CA. I read this song was the 3rd single from the album - behind "Black Man Ray" & "King In A Catholic Style". It should've been the LEAD single. But it only reached #54 on the British chart. I would've thought with Walter Becker producing, and the Steely Dan-ish sound, the song should've charted big in the USA. I guess timing & promotion is everything.
i thought i was the only China Crisis fan in the entire world! Glad to see there are more people with incredibly good taste. Most underrated band in the world1
