@tawandrew what, the BBC, trying to make Rhodesia look bad? I'm sure it had nothing to do with the embrassment Britain had after their sanctions failed..not at all
@pbrick6301 Both my parents fought communists & leftist rebels in Malaysia back in the 60's & 70's . Fighting Communism is a struggle of all races everywhere , not just in Rhodesia & Malaysia , but also throughout the world . I pray for the restoration of the Rhodesian nation however impossible it may be.
@MrHelmyabdullah i hate commis aswell but sorry to disappoint you but its been proven even on some bbc documentaries that after the signing of the UDI ian smith was hiding the true evils of the rhodesian governmnt frm the media so rhodesians had no idea the selous scouts were murdering people in reserve camps and even my gran dad was a victim of a stab in the head by some random white soulders,im not tlking of every white citizen in that contry.like now zims in zim dnt know facts the world does
@tawandrew: It is obvious that your grandad was a collaborator with the evil forces of Mugabe/Nkomo who subverted our people with fear and intimidation; you should be angry with them and not the Selous Scouts which was a top notch unit, trained to kill evil terrorists(haters of peace and freedom) Also the bbc was the propaganda wing of Perfidious Albion and it would be wise not to believe anything they uttered regarding the issue of UDI.
@garylerouex ....Gary you do go on a bit with your Rhodesia drivel dont you mate. Smith was an idiot and UDI was an idiotic idea. Brits tried to get you to see the light but eventually hard to pull the plug on your folly. Rhodesians are know for nothing other than propping up bars in Australia pining for their pitiful former and fleeting existence as a rogue, failed state.
@MrZingy ; the only idiot around here is you; you keep on muttering folly this and rogue that; you sound like a stuck record; you just can't seem to get out of the Zimbabwe groove!
Thanks for sharing the photos - I was lucky enough to meet an ex scout - such an honourable and gentle man. He educated me about the missing history that us Europeans were never told about.
Good Lord! What are you people smoking! Even if our Rhodie brothers had a touch of racism in their government they didn't come busting through people's doors at night to kill them for thinking a certain way or for skin color. Those imbecile's now running zim sure do. Why the hell do you think even though Mugabe was originally backed by the U.N. even they put his ass on the human rights violation list! This never happened to Smith and those U.N. iditots hated him. B.S. on that same cloth comment
@garrett088 ...Smithy and Mugabe were birds of a feather AS WELL as being cut from the same cloth. All that has actually changed now is that the few who enjoyed the benefits of the country are black when they used to be white. Masses lived in poverty and deprivation under both Governments. Both failed their people. Smith = Mugabe = Smith = Mugabe = Smith.........catching on yet?
@superduperdug ...I guess the Rhodies on the channel are trying to glorify the Rhodesia state and Ian Smith based on the undeniable fact that Mugabe is a failure. I, on the other hand, believe it to be more cause and effect. After what he was subjected to by the RF, is it reasonable to expect RGM to be an impartial, well rounded leader. They created this monster and are crying foul when it gets up and bites them!
@MrZingy created a monster you say? No mugabe was just born a monster, he comes from the same mold as hitler, idiamin, pol pot and the rest of that type of filth!
@whiteozzie1 ...... same mold as Smithy (as they are both not the greatest ambassadors for democracy are they?). As violence begets violence, tyranny begets tyranny. The reality is that you cannot condemn Mugabe in isolation of IDS. IDS's ideologies remain the root cause of the Zimbabwe mess.
Smith taught Mugabe how to manipulate the political system so that it benefits the chosen minority. They used the same model. Cut from the same cloth these two!
@MrZingy .Ian Smith tried to show mugabe how to govern correctly and how to incorporate every one into the new government, at first mugabe would come to Smith for advice, then he started to show his true colours.Cut from the same cloth you say? That statement is the statement of a fool i'm afraid to say !
@whiteozzie1 ....do you have any idea how moronic you sound??!!! What frikkin advise do you think one of the world's most despotic dictators (Smithy) could give anyone on appropriate governance. His Rhodesia and Rhodesian Front were the laughing stock of the western (and eastern) worlds. Mugabe would get better advice from bozo the clown if he were looking for help!
@MrZingy Zingy, did i touch a nerve, no need for a temper tantrum now! Sorry, i'll try and keep the truth to the bare minimum when i am conversing with you!
@MrZingy the Rhodesian bush war was never a racial war it was ,like the majority of wars in the era, a war of ideology of communism/socialism vs democracy. and beside the point white farmers are discreminated (spelling?) against worse that any minority in the united states from what i understand.
@superduperdug .....Democracy and Rhodesia should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Smithy told you you were fighting "communism", when really you were fighting to the illogical cause of an egotistical maniac.
@thermionic1234567 sorry to disappoint you but its been proven even on some bbc documentaries that after the signing of the UDI ian smith was hiding the true evils of the rhodesian government from the mefia so rhodesians had no idea the selous scouts were murdering people in reserve camps and even my gran dad was a victim of a stab in the head by some random white soulders,im not talking of every white citizen in that contry.like now zims in zim dnt know facts
@whiteozzie1 ....it is exactly this type of idiocy that keeps Mugabe in power. The very idea of restoring Rhodesia drives the masses towards supporting Zanu pf who rid them from a life of slavery. The black citizens of Zimbabwe may be poor and living in a poorly managed environment, but at least they dont have to live with the indignity of being racially subjugated and abused.
@MrZingy , 08' got asked to leave! The zanu boys did'nt like the questions that i was asking. It seems that 'freedom of speach' is slowly been crushed. Zingy, we may not agree on many things, but surley we can agree that everyone has the right to freedom of speach!!!
@whiteozzie1 ...we agree on this . You however seem to have a basic problem with the universal tenant that all men were created equal. You expect certain freedoms when it suits you......but where were you when the black people of your country were demanding the freedom of self determination...where were you ozzie???!!! Is it reasonable to expect tolerance and sanity from a grouping of people to whom YOU did not avail such reason and tolerance?
@whiteozzie1 ...it is just this type of thinking that consistently got the Rhodies into trouble. Judge me by the content of my character alone as my nationality, colour, sect, religion or tribe (Manchester United!!!) have no material influence on my true sense of being. It is too easy to point the finger at the blackman and I may have been guilty of this before, but I now understand the drivers behind the outcomes of nations like Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.
I am beginning to think I should be charging you for all this free education you are getting! Why are your Rhodie buddies so quiet....at a KKK gathering?
Rhodesia was overthrown by savage tribal barbarians enrobed with pseudo marxist tendencies and the civilized world stood back and watched........You are right the world was guilty of a war crime.Democracy for all might be a high and lofty philosophy but when a population is not prepared for the radical shift that ensues ,chaos and nightmare occur.
@RhodesianBok .......I doubt whether God's blessings reach down as far as HELL!!!! My Ian Smith rot in Hell! Double crossing, back stabbing murderer of children........History has judged this Judas and he has been found wanting.
@RhodesianBok ...I took my medicine. Thanks. But guess what??? Smith remains a failed dictator. Smith, Mugabe, Idi Amin, Hitler, Pol Pot.....all cut from the same cloth!!!
@suryavajra you wouldnt know what a cricket ball was if it hit you on the noggin! Far too cultured for you lot.....perhaps NASCAR is more up your street matey!
@suryavajra ...nothing is wrong with NASCAR. Watching a car go round in circles provides for great mental stimulation (of that single brain cell of yours). Ever tried watching paint dry?
Not my personal ''cup of tea'', but I have nothing against it. Again, i respect most if not all sports, so I have neither a problem with NASCAR nor cricket.
Rhodesia will never be forgotten as long as those who loved it dearly enough to fight for it live & pass on what they did, saw, heard & learnt in those days when that place was somewhere all people, black & white could be proud of.
The ONLY reason that Rhodesia fell to the likes of the murdering baboon Mugabe was the treachery of the other nations in the world who thought they could make money out of the resourses that existed there, Britain & the U.S.A. being the worst offenders.
The fate for Natives in Zimbabwe would have been similar to that of New Zealand, Australia, Canada...etc..etc. etc...Ian Smith just failed to pull out what all his other cousins did. Yes! Ian Smith will have created prosperity, but for whom? Fertile lands in the country was already distributed along racial lines....yes Mugabe decision destroyed the economy but there was little other option. ...STOP LYING TO YOURSELF....
look at that place now begging the world for money and food when they could have been world leader and been a model for the rest of Africa, insteadthe world sat back and let the commie bastards take over!!!!!!! Learn a F*^# 'n LESSON WORLD.
@pyrotek40 the world will never learn a lesson...the world NEVER learns its lessons. Keeps repeating history over and over because most people are too dumb to study history, and left wing propaganda has convinced everyone to suck up to third world societies.
@pyrotek40 Because, you know, white minority rule where blacks are oppressed is an ok place right? Wait, That was Africa pretty much as a whole, and the whites did what they could to f*** over the blacks before leaving. The white man did everything within his power to destroy Africa and take only what benefited him.
@whoisit87 I am viewed as a "pommy liberal" because I do not support the racist agenda of the Rhodesian Front. However you my friend are just as bad, NEVER forget that the "whiteman" could have perpetuated Rhodesian and apartheid South Aftica for as long as they chose. Independence was granted to Zimbabwe by the "white" government of Britain. After 30 years of Independence Zimbabwe's failure belongs to Zimbabwe alone.
Because the British government were in bed with Mugabe from the days of tje Rhodesian Bush War. Afterall who offered higher level military training to the self styled ''Black Jesus'' after Gurkurahundi?? Who knighted Mugabe?
@suryavajra do you want me to show you a picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Sadaam or Reagan hugging Mubuto? Mugabe hates the British more than he hated the Rhodies, because only the British insisted on EU sanctions. Only person who was double dealing with Mugabe was Smithie!
@suryavajra Now,now Slurry how many times must I tell you that socks are not for smoking. Britain allowed the good people of Zimbabwe to choose their own leader....its called democracy my boy. Sometimes this gives you crap leaders (like Bush), but you just gotta live with it!
@MrZingy ..I would say Britain civilised the world. Yes and that includes your beloved little Indian. Ask 99% of Indians, South Africans, Zimbabweans whether they would rather stay where they are or hot tail it to Britain. Your answer is right there in front of you boyo. BTW how is night school?
Hardly. you dragged the Indians, South Africans and Rhodesians among millions of other poor souls into two world wars in order to kill your fellow Europeans in cold blood. Civilization? More like the heart of darkness.
Britain backed Mugabe to the hilt. They tacitly accepted Mugabe's operation into Matabeleland that killed 30,000 Ndebeles, and rewarded the regime with weapons, training and investment. After a 100 years, it's still divide and conquer only with plausible deniability.
So I see that you refer to a one-party state as democracy. You sure you are a Pommy liberal, Zingbo?? Didn't know you libs believe in rulers appointed for life. I wonder if you would march in goosestep if (cont)
Common sense?? lol!! Good one. So why did you offer the War Guarantee to Poland that you could failed to honor not just once, but twice in the space of six years??
There you go with your baseless accusations, Zingy....lol!! I don't worship any mortal perso, and Gandhi ain't my granddad.
I see the South Africans as victims themselves. A traumatized people suffering from their own demons, just as the Indians did. It's regrettable that in the Empire everyone of the subjected people were turned against someone else, instead of all committing to the cause of independence together.
@suryavajra What did Britain have to do with that. Pray tell me why your preciously little Indian lift a finger....too busy stealing Kashmir from the good people of Pakistan?
Oh?? And then what's this about lifting Kashmir then?? If the Pakistanis failed in their bid for their hostile takeover of Kashmir ever since their independence against the Indians, how does that jive with your statement here about not being able to fight off the cold?? lol!!
HAHA!! I'm afraid history would disagree with you there old chap. First they need to deal with the Taliban who just a couple of years ago were occupying the Swat valley. Once they handle the Taliban, the Baluch, then maybe they may after 60 years or so be able to challenge India.
Hey if it were, it would of happened already. Nice try Zingbo.
I wanna talk to you about Gandhi for a minute,. I think that he was in the wrong for serving in the British military against the Zulu and the Boere, because the only thing that the Zulu nation and the Boer Republics wanted in Africa was independence and liberty from the British Empire's tyranny, just as he wanted for the people in India.
@suryavajra ...you shot Mahatma Gandi, you machine gunned Indira Gandi, you blew up Rajiv Gandi...............ahhhhh but that was the doing of the "evil empire" right?
There you go with your rambling again Zingbo. Can't handle it can you??
''Evil Empire''. You words not mine. You guys had the largest drug operation in history. Heck the Colombian and Mexican Drug Cartels had nothing on the operations that the Empire had back in the day.
@suryavajra ...you would blame Marco Polo for the failings of India if you could!
Cant understand your love for the Rhodesian Front and Smithie. Even your Indian Government isolated and berated them. Lots of ethnic Indian's in the ANC too.
That's a good question. Well it really started three years ago when I learned about their mine resistant vehicles and how they were the first to invent them. Then gradually I started reading about the country, visiting Beautiful Rhodesia page, where I met some of the guys, who were really nice guys, with a sense of humor and patience in explaining their side of the story. So as a result I became really interested in Rhodesia and wanted to find out what happened to a country (cont)
@suryavajra Rhodesia led the rest of Africa??!! There was nothing vaguely romantic about that lot. Vicious racists that's all....made the Saffas look like choir boys. You obviously take the liberties that America affords you for granted. In Rhodesia Indians were only allowed to live in certain quarters. They were allowed to own shops in an area of Salisbury called the "second class trading area". You lot werent allowed in cinemas or swimming pools either! Smashing place!
So you're saying Balthazar John Vorster who belonged to a pro-Nazi organization and Hendrik Van Der Bergh who was the feared chief of secret police and intelligence were choirboys to the Rhodesians who had always fought on the Allied side?? Really??
Listen Zingy, I wanna quote to you something that really has bearing here. ''Judge not, lest you be judged''.
The British history in southern Africa and I can't say this enough is far more shady, man....
and while I appreciate your concern for the Indians who lived in Africa, somehow I doubt that this concern is less than sincere given that you have never criticized in the same measure, the behavior of the British government to Indians for 200 years in the subcontinent.
@suryavajra ...so your logic is that because the British did you over....it was OK for the Rhodies to subjugate you too. You have had Independence (granted to you without you having to resort to arms) for 60 years. Deal with it and move on, or are you going to blame the Brits forever!
Well the Brits screwed everyone over. They screwed the Indians, they screwed the Afrikaners and they screwed the Rhodesians.
I've talked to many, many Rhodies over these years, and none ever talked of subjugation, or colonialism or imperialism.
All of these people are victims of the Empire and it messed them up badly. So before you start pointing the blame at folks, just remember Britain's part that made all of this possible.
Yes, I agree with them when they say Perfidious Albion, because where were you when the Aussies were even worse bigots in the 1950s?? Where were you when they issued hunting licenses to kill Aborigines until the 1960s?? What of the all-White immigration policy they had?? Rhodesia and SA did not have an all-white immigration policy, but OZ did. Yet you say nothing about their racism, because they kept the Union Flag on the canton of their flag. Double standards.
where we you when your adopted country massacred the native Americans and drove them into the concentration camps you called reservations. What about you internment of the American Japanese during WW11? What about your illegal detentions at Guantanamo Bay and your sordid rendition flights? What about your Abu Gharaib? Where were you Slurry, where were you?
...besides we only put up with the Aussies only becuse they play decent rugby and cricket!
Avoid and launch counter accusations. So I take it that Britain's complicity in OZ;'s actions is silence. Then if that's the case, and you don't judge Australia, what the hell gives you the right to judge Rhodesia??
Rhodesia was a more tolerant nation than OZ was at the same exact time in history, yet the Rhodies are the bad guys?? Wow.....
@suryavajra ...the Aussies like the Americans had equality as the cornerstone of their constitution. America of the 60's changed as it fully embraced civil liberties (if it hadn't you would be propelling a rickshaw in Madras). The Aussies changed too, and with British encouragement, they aplogised for their crimes towards the aboriginal people. Have you ever hear remorse from a Rhodie...never! There your difference right there!
Oh did they?? What of taking Aborigine kids away from their parents as a matter of state policy, Zingbo?? hmmmm...and I wonder if they got the memo of equal rights in the 1960s when they were issuing license to hunt human beings....
The reason was that OZ remained a Commonwealth Realm, and Rhodesia went independent. And that was the rub for Britain. Not for any stand on racial justice or equality for the people. It was simply that those Rhodesians dare push for independence
@suryavajra ...token? Duly elected in democratic elections. Democratic, now that's a word for you. It does not encompass shooting, machine gunning, suicide bombing your leaders as a means of political expression. The Brits didn't teach you that now did they?
Token token token, boyo. All freaking token. Good little boys and girls who goosestep in front of the Queen with sticks up their asses and a crisp ''Pip Pip Cheerio''...lol!!!
Yeah, they were put in there as facade to put up the illusion that Britain is some tolerant multi-cultural society....hahahaha!
Wait a minute, you just said everyone was granted independence. Who are you to say who is right and who is wrong, given your own sordid track record on racism?? You really expect me to believe that bull crap, boyo?? you can do better than that...lol!
Alright, it's good to hear fairy tales straight from the fairy....but sorry Zingbo, you're gonna have to flutter away now. I'm heading off for some shut-eye...
@suryavajra ....sad to see you reduced to name calling. Clearly lost your sense of dignity along with your sense of reason. And I thought you were a little more classy than that.....I guess you managed to prove me wrong on this one!
@suryavajra ...."night school mentality" you have to love it!!
When you secure yourself a classic education at any institute of repute (that's Ivy league in your case) feel free to re engage. You have a great deal of maturing do get through before you can add value to the world. And save your response...the half witted drivel has become somewhat tiresome!
oh puhlease......I'm at a classical uni right now. But I can see that I really needled you there Tinkerbelle. Let me give you a pat on your head...pat pat pat. lol!
@suryavajra Rhodesia 1965-1979 fought for no one but themselves. I might add they made a frightfully poor go at it. Trounced by Mugabe's rag tag bunch of teenagers with catapults.
You perhaps concern yourself about your own India when it comes to history. Violence and savagery is your game........for goodness sake you shot your own founder of your nation Mahatma Gandi ....even the Saffas would be that brutal (or stupid) to harmed Mandela. Blame the British why dont you!
And here I thought we could actually have a debate of substance for a change....my bad.
Well really, none of it need have happened had the British not been so pig-headed and offered Dominion status back in 1919 as a token of gratitude for the 1 million Indian soldiers who served on the Western Front. Then moderates would of prevailed, the country would of been in good shape, and the violent sectarian types that killed Gandhi would of NEVER existed.
@suryavajra ...dude (as you would say) you are going back into the middle ages. You dont hear the Brits blaming the French for their treachery in 1066. You are like the Rhodies...blame the Brits...because your failure have absolutely nothing to do with your own idiotic policies, right?!
But it's not going back 1,000 years. It's going back to the early part of the 20th century. The part that still affects the world today, one hundred years later.
And you know something, I really don't get upset that sometime back then, I heard my ancestors had been done in by the Brits....but for one thing. That the Brits now days spew this sanctimonious bull crap and double speak regarding their actions in relation to everyone else's. That's the rub, (as you would say).
And can I tell you something Zingy?? Our so-called ''violence and savagery'' was never a problem in the two World Wars when you needed guys to deal with your fellow Europeans, hey??
Oh?? And why not?? Did not Indians make a stand at Imphal and Kohima against the Japs. Were they not tortured and killed in Japanese prison camps alongside Aussies and Brits?? Did they not fight the Nazis and Fascists alongside Brits in Europe??
Atleast the Rhodies remember the RAR and sing the regimental song. You Brits, you do not even remember those soldiers who served for your cause because of they were of the wrong color, nationality and religion.
@suryavajra ....your contribution was not meaningful in terms of the outcome of the wars....with you or without you the outcome would have been the same. A tad harsh maybe, but "dem are da facts" my boy.
Let it be known that the most decorated and highly honoured British soldier emanating from both the Iraq and Afganistan war is black. Race plays no part in British society....unlike in Rhodesia and India!
Race and religion does play a role in Britain. You just don't target Black people because you know y'all would be trounced for it. But you do target Brown folks.
@suryavajra ...for goodness sake Slurry...we have "brown folk" sitting in the House of Lords let alone the House of Commons. We have millions of Indian asylum seekers....but never heard of a Brit chomping at the bit to go and get Indian nationality....why do you think that is boyo?
they actually worked very well. Atleast I read about them in detail, and it wasn't just the pookies. There were many types of vehicles that had been engineered from existing civilian vehicles which was pretty interesting.
OOOOH EU sanctions......Yeah because everyone knows that Britain hiding behind a sanctions regime is actually more horrible than I don't know, fighting the Rhodesian military in Bush Warfare? Do stop giving yourself airs, old boy. It's so unbecoming.
My my, so defensive Zingbo, when someone dares question Britain's role. The real truth is the problems stem not to Apartheid South Africa or Rhodesia, but to the actions of the British Empire which oppressed the Blacks, Whites and Asians in Africa and bound them to their will through the politics of divide and conquer/
@suryavajra I'm actually surprised that you havent blamed 9/11 on Britain....how about the 2005 Tsunami...wasnt that Britains fault. Three Mile Island, Space shuttle disasters, Chernobyl???
No, I don't blame Britain for all of these, that's just silly. But you and Mugabe were close. And Britain created the mess in Southern Africa. It began with the Anglo-Boer War.
If Ian Smith had granted the black people equality then the war wouldnt have happened with all its tragic consequences. But Mugabe is an arsewipe for sure. An interesting point for you Rhodesians out there, many black people here in the UK hate Mugabe more than you do because it makes the rest of us look bad and incompetent. Hopefully you will know that not all of us are like him. Africa belongs to all who live in it, black and white! Im black by the way if it helps
The blacks in Rhodesia are nostalgic for Ian Smith! It never went from white minority rule to black majority rule, it went from white minority rule to MUGABE rule!
I said he should have given them equal rights or at least gradually removed restrictions throught the 1950s and 60s, if that had happpened there would never have been a war and Mugabe would never have got to power. If Ian Smith did that the black people of Rhodesia would have re-elected him for sure because he was quite popular amongst black people
There are many countries in this 'modern' world that would benefit from a bit of the old Colonial Rule. I think the majority of Africa for instance, and many places in the middle east could use a bit of good old civilizin' and understand the benefits of Tea Time.
Thanks Michael-great comment! If the U.S did not back Britain to the hilt on sanctions against us in1968 in exchange for her support on it's failed Vietnam policy 911 would not have happened as the U.S would have nailed terrorism in it's butt by preventing communist infiltration into the now destroyed Rhodesia. I love the American people; I just hate her foreign policy.
Speaking as an American I can say to my countryman you may think you are free - but what passes for freedom here is nothing like it was in Rhodesia - they couldn't be bothered to be pushed around constantly. Their love of freedom was of course, ultimately their downfall (and mine).
surely, badrabbit70, it matters where you are today, not where you came from. the sooner you forget about that extinct, draconian rhodesian fiasco, the less bitter you'll become.
communism was set up by jews, the Bolshevist were jewish, the counter revolution was called the white revolution

@MrZingy the Rhodesian bush war was never a racial war it was ,like the majority of wars in the era, a war of ideology of communism/socialism vs democracy. and beside the point white farmers are discreminated (spelling?) against worse that any minority in the united states from what i understand.
superduperdug 1 year ago 6
@superduperdug .....Democracy and Rhodesia should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Smithy told you you were fighting "communism", when really you were fighting to the illogical cause of an egotistical maniac.

Yep, toataly agree with this vid, its time to restore Rhodesia! Anyone got a spare 7.62mm round for mugabe!!
whiteozzie1 1 year ago
@whiteozzie1 ....it is exactly this type of idiocy that keeps Mugabe in power. The very idea of restoring Rhodesia drives the masses towards supporting Zanu pf who rid them from a life of slavery. The black citizens of Zimbabwe may be poor and living in a poorly managed environment, but at least they dont have to live with the indignity of being racially subjugated and abused.
MrZingy 1 year ago

whiteozzie1 1 year ago

MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
So as a result I became really interested in Rhodesia and wanted to find out what happened to a country (cont)
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra
that had so much promise and could easily have led the rest of the African continent to a better future.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra Rhodesia led the rest of Africa??!! There was nothing vaguely romantic about that lot. Vicious racists that's all....made the Saffas look like choir boys. You obviously take the liberties that America affords you for granted. In Rhodesia Indians were only allowed to live in certain quarters. They were allowed to own shops in an area of Salisbury called the "second class trading area". You lot werent allowed in cinemas or swimming pools either! Smashing place!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
The British history in southern Africa and I can't say this enough is far more shady, man....
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra
and while I appreciate your concern for the Indians who lived in Africa, somehow I doubt that this concern is less than sincere given that you have never criticized in the same measure, the behavior of the British government to Indians for 200 years in the subcontinent.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra
**I meant, somehow I think that this concern is less than sincere....
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ...so your logic is that because the British did you over....it was OK for the Rhodies to subjugate you too. You have had Independence (granted to you without you having to resort to arms) for 60 years. Deal with it and move on, or are you going to blame the Brits forever!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
So before you start pointing the blame at folks, just remember Britain's part that made all of this possible.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ...that's a blatant lie!!! Every second phrase from you and you Rhodie mates is "Perfidious Albion this and Perfidious Albion that".
If we were a traitor, it was a traitor to a nation of bigots who do not share our norms and values.
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
Double standards.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra
where we you when your adopted country massacred the native Americans and drove them into the concentration camps you called reservations.
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
Wow.....
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ...the Aussies like the Americans had equality as the cornerstone of their constitution. America of the 60's changed as it fully embraced civil liberties (if it hadn't you would be propelling a rickshaw in Madras). The Aussies changed too, and with British encouragement, they aplogised for their crimes towards the aboriginal people. Have you ever hear remorse from a Rhodie...never! There your difference right there!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy

You perhaps concern yourself about your own India when it comes to history. Violence and savagery is your game........for goodness sake you shot your own founder of your nation Mahatma Gandi ....even the Saffas would be that brutal (or stupid) to harmed Mandela. Blame the British why dont you!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
And here I thought we could actually have a debate of substance for a change....my bad.
Well really, none of it need have happened had the British not been so pig-headed and offered Dominion status back in 1919 as a token of gratitude for the 1 million Indian soldiers who served on the Western Front. Then moderates would of prevailed, the country would of been in good shape, and the violent sectarian types that killed Gandhi would of NEVER existed.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ...dude (as you would say) you are going back into the middle ages. You dont hear the Brits blaming the French for their treachery in 1066. You are like the Rhodies...blame the Brits...because your failure have absolutely nothing to do with your own idiotic policies, right?!

That the Brits now days spew this sanctimonious bull crap and double speak regarding their actions in relation to everyone else's. That's the rub, (as you would say).
suryavajra 1 year ago
@MrZingy
And can I tell you something Zingy?? Our so-called ''violence and savagery'' was never a problem in the two World Wars when you needed guys to deal with your fellow Europeans, hey??
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ...history does not reflect a meaningful contribution by Indians in either of the world wars ............ and rightly so!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
You Brits, you do not even remember those soldiers who served for your cause because of they were of the wrong color, nationality and religion.
suryavajra 1 year ago
@suryavajra ....your contribution was not meaningful in terms of the outcome of the wars....with you or without you the outcome would have been the same. A tad harsh maybe, but "dem are da facts" my boy.
Let it be known that the most decorated and highly honoured British soldier emanating from both the Iraq and Afganistan war is black. Race plays no part in British society....unlike in Rhodesia and India!
MrZingy 1 year ago
@MrZingy
So contributing 1 million sons for the First World war and 2.5 million sons for the second does not constitute a ''meaningful deployment''.
This is exactly what we mean by Perfidious Albion. Right there. All of the ugliness of it in that statement. A Rhodie would never utter such a lie.

God Bless all the brave Whites and also Blacks who tried to save the land then known as Rhodesia from Mugabe's savage and uncivilized hell.
Actually, the one most to blame IMHO is Portugal, when they quit Africa it was just a matter of time... only so much that Anglo-Saxons can do ya know?
