Pride was great a lot of fighters left the ufc in the early days for pride because there was more money. Than the ufc bought pride and got their talent. For the most the part the ufc has the most talent because they are now the super power with the most money. Dana White makes the decisions, such as exclusive contracts. Which is why so many fighters left the UFC periodically. It's just business though. I have heard a propostition to make Heavyweight lighter, and introduce an unlimited Super HW (not from Dana).

You should be judging by the substance, not the styling. There are plenty of good fighters in the UFC - but the reason the UFC is so easy to sell has more to do with the fact the shows are being promoted. It isn't that making money allows you to promote - it's vice versa.

Well, Rampage was kind of right. He came to the UFC and he was the first guy to KO the champ Liddell in the UFC (was one of my first fights I saw too). But yeah.. for the most part UFC fighters have beaten PRIDE fighters.
Well a wrestler like Dan Henderson couldn't dominate in the UFC. And a non-wrestler guy like Shogun from PRIDE could be champion.. So it has very little to do with if the guy's a wrestler. Actually, PRIDE rules were better for the wrestler. You just take them down, knee them to the head, or stand up and kick them to the head.
That made zero sense. When the wrestler shoots in on you, you can knee him in the head EVEN with UFC rules. Once you're on your back and the wrestler lays on top of you, you can't kick him in the head, no matter what rules you are playing by. So, the PRIDE rules helped the wrestlers more.

Exactly, you can't knee a downed opponent. So the wrestler can't knee his opponent to the head when he's for example in side-control. And why can't you head kick wrestlers in UFC? You might get taken down, but that would happen with the PRIDE rules also.

All the MMA fights are going to change for the worst once someone dies in the ring, it's very unregulated and once someone dies, it'll be toned down. Look at boxing, it used to be a really brutal sport, you could fight as long as you got up, now if you get a little cut it's over. This will happen to MMA if someone dies in the ring. I hope this doesn't happen because I like this, but it will happen one day.

@kanguesso Does the UFC own Strikeforce, or does Zuffa? Dana White is president of the UFC, but he isn't a majority shareholder of Zuffa (meaning he has no real control over the UFC). He's a hype man. You can't really call him a businessman, he doesn't make the money from UFC. That would be Zuffa.

Dana White makes the decisions, such as exclusive contracts. Which is why so many fighters left the UFC periodically. It's just business though. I have heard a propostition to make Heavyweight lighter, and introduce an unlimited Super HW (not from Dana).

@Kino483 You need to think about what you are saying. The UFC sells more, what does that mean? It means the package looks nice. According to this logic, Titanic was the best movie of all time, until Avatar was released.
You should be judging by the substance, not the styling. There are plenty of good fighters in the UFC - but the reason the UFC is so easy to sell has more to do with the fact the shows are being promoted. It isn't that making money allows you to promote - it's vice versa.

Well a wrestler like Dan Henderson couldn't dominate in the UFC. And a non-wrestler guy like Shogun from PRIDE could be champion.. So it has very little to do with if the guy's a wrestler. Actually, PRIDE rules were better for the wrestler. You just take them down, knee them to the head, or stand up and kick them to the head.

That made zero sense. When the wrestler shoots in on you, you can knee him in the head EVEN with UFC rules. Once you're on your back and the wrestler lays on top of you, you can't kick him in the head, no matter what rules you are playing by. So, the PRIDE rules helped the wrestlers more.

Exactly, you can't knee a downed opponent. So the wrestler can't knee his opponent to the head when he's for example in side-control. And why can't you head kick wrestlers in UFC? You might get taken down, but that would happen with the PRIDE rules also.

All the MMA fights are going to change for the worst once someone dies in the ring, it's very unregulated and once someone dies, it'll be toned down. Look at boxing, it used to be a really brutal sport, you could fight as long as you got up, now if you get a little cut it's over. This will happen to MMA if someone dies in the ring. I hope this doesn't happen because I like this, but it will happen one day.

I tend to agree that when fighting in Pride it was fighting guys from, Brasil, Japan Korea, Croatia, Russia , Poland, Holland, etc, I looked at it as an Olympic type sport, where representing your country gave more insentive to win than just Cash, thus the name PRIDE......plus the checks were real big ( literally ) and the bull fighter music and confetti, trophys and skinny Japanese chicks and EL Guapo!!!! Rampage was die hard with Pride. Pride is no longer though, he has to work somewhere, and he's a great fighter, so now he's in the UFC. If you think Rampage is the only fighter that has felt this way, and said this before entering the UFC, think again. I'm sure fighters like Anderson Silva, or Lyoto Machida felt like this before entering...maybe not Lyoto, but I'm sure about Anderson, and look how both have dominated.

Not really.. You rarely ever see bloodied up fights in Pride compared to UFC. Pride didn't allow elbows to down opponents which was the result of all that blood. They both had their plus and minus. Pride didn't have "fixed fights". Pride was more respectful, the audience were true mma fans, there was never any boo'ing. Nowadays in UFC everyone in the audience are just a bunch of drunks boo'ing whatever they dont like.
