I just finished the game and with the low expectations I had I must admit.. it really blew me away... It started kind of weak but with a story that made you want to know more... and it started of with some really funny dialogue. Then the story starts getting deeper and deeper and you start to realize that this isnt just some mindless shooter.. I am a huuuuuge fan of gears but i must admit the story, characters, bossfights and variation made me like this more!! This game is surprise of the year!

Considering the fact that Binary Domain wouldn't exist without Terminator or Gears of War, I think we have to take away the creativity credit and just commend this thing on the fact that Sega made a smoothly controlled game that is a blast to play. In fact, if any developer decides to make another Terminator game, I'd suggest learning a thing or two from Binary Domain, as what I got form the demo was absolutely awesome, and that's BECAUSE it played just like Gears.

just played the demo, epic game, full of action and the combat and interaction with robots were awesome, specially when they come and claw at ur feet or when u gotta jump on the big dude and break his drive bay or sumthing. The Voice Integration is a really fun feature too, needed some time to setup properly, but it recorgnized most of my commands alright, and led to some funny convos. The ONLY problem I have with this game is that the framerate lags like fk, make it 30fps LOCKed and I'll buy :D

Why's everyone hating on Gears of War? Gears is a unique game with its own pros and cons just as all games have. Pro's being its a well thought idea, the storyline's are deep and emotional, the guns are unique and entertaining to use. Enemies are something that's not been thought of previously. Boss's are good as they provide a challenge but it's clear what you have to do to progress. Along with that, the graphics are amazingly detailed and fit with the style of the overall game.

@TemmyDzN Gears (2) is just so slow paced, and a badly designed game imo. How the enemy ai stays behind cover too much, they have way too much HP (bad for non bosstypes), no headshots, weapons with too large a spread of fire.

The only way to quickly kill ppl is close combat but with the player moves too slowly. I havnt played online but I hear most ppl resort to using the shotgun even though the game isnt designed to be played that way. Add all those elements together makes it a bad game imo

I play Gears pretty seriously but I still feel like this game would be one that would definitely pull me away from it for a bit. Plus I have to admit that the squad based morality system is pretty ill.....meaning good. And BD seems to have more story depth packed in it than most shooters nowadays.

All that being said, the creator of this game even admitted to taking inspiration from Gears...

@fistingnuns69er It has more to do with people being ignorant or not even attempting to try different games in the genre - even though BD and Vanqush trump Gears in a lot of areas especially gameplay depth. Sales of Vanquish were horrid, and likely so will sales of BD. So we get suck with sequel after sequel of the same shit. Id wager Gears fans would love both BD and Vanquish if they actually gave them a chance - which disturbingly the masses will not...
