Being at the final game at Michigan & Trumbull, having had the opportunity a week prior to walk around the park alone when my brother played in the Fantasy Camp, meeting so many former players, and being privileged enough to have attended dozens of games as kid growing up, I'd reckon it's suffice to say my "bucket list" is complete. I honestly can not think of another place I'd rather be now that it's gone.
when i waz kid at webster elementry they would take is to tiger stadium ,,we woild walk thyere and have a hotdog and watch the game ! life is just better with good old baseball in youre life ! god bless the old days !
I still love those Tigers. And while it's weird seeing only a slice of old Tiger Stadium opening out at Michigan and Trumbull, I like to think that today, I'm part of building that same magic and tradition at Comerica Park.
Maybe 100 years from now, a young gal like myself will go to the Tigers' last game at Comerica, and wonder at all the lives--like mine and yours--that've passed through it.
they tore down the last great house of the game. It should have stood as a national landmark, a historic place. Let the fathers take thier sons to. But greed in economic turmormoil took precedent.
You got that right, in many ways Navin, Briggs, Tiger Stadium was more of a ballpark than the one in the Bronx ever was. My first time there was in "68", the last was in "96" to take my father before it was torn down. I'm glad I did.

Nicely done. That 1980 Topps card of Lance Parrish brought back so many memories. There
he is once again in the summer sun, smiling
brightly, a world championship in his future.
