  • Great for the info thanks! But what does 'opens' mean?

  • @OneShotKill3r accelerate

  • what the heck is the background music from its gonna kill me lol

  • @ShootsDenBrah Don't remember exactly... I know it's at the beginning of a couple anime dvds... Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell or something...

  • Oh man, understanding this is like Algebra 2 all over again :(

  • what does plus and minus mean?

  • @SublordUtilax123 Minus means the bend/corner gets more tight so you need to slow down and shift to a lower gear.

Plus means the bend/corner gets more straight so you can accelerate/shift into a high gear.

  • @76ers what about drivers that use plus/minus AND tightens/opens?

    thanks

  • Thanks for posting

  • 76ers,I often hear co-drivers saying "maybe/MB"? What does it mean ? thank you.

  • @hatrisha I not sure but I would assume if they're talking about the severity of a bend for example, then it's a bend that falls in between their standard units - like a bend that's not too tight to be a 3 yet it's not too straight to be a 4 - so more like a 3.5

Let me know if anyone has other thoughts

  • @76ers

    maybe means maybe could be

the problem is the drivers/codrivers havnt driven that stage before in anger only at about 10mph so the notes are best guess so the notes would be for example s/may conts 130

    1r + > 2l

so that would be one right plus openens slippy maybe into 2l continues 130

  • @Jezkipezki "K" is short for "Kink" which is simply a bend. So you'll often hear "K right" if the road bends to the right or "K left" for a left bend.

    Example:

    MC1 200 KL3 150 KR2 100

From Main Control 1 (start), go 200 metres straight to a kink left, severity 3,

150 metres, kink right severity 2, 100 meters straight

  • it looks like petter and phill mills pace notes.

  • the numbers on before the direction of the corners means what gear the driver should approach the corner, this varies with each driver nd each car, for example a 5 right (5th gear) would mean flat outin a road rally but for a WRC driver this would mean not quite flat out (as flat out for a wrc driver would be 6th gear) i hope that explains it more :)

  • a crest is a top

  • The pace notes are still a bit confusing.

  • Maybe it's because they speak too fast, but I never hear them say the "a" (the article) before crest, bump, jump, ditch etc

  • What's the minus and plus stand for in cornering? what is the difference?

  • Minus means the bend/corner gets a lot more tight around the bend so you need to slow down and shift to a lower gear.

Plus means the bend/corner gets less tight as you go around it and you can accelerate/shift into a higher gear.

  • Thanks alot! makes alot more sense to me now. I'm just trying to figure this all out, I just got hooked on rallying not too long ago

  • Pacenotes are different for every driver :)

    For me - 1 = faster, 2 = slower... up to 7 (handbrake corner :) )

And numbers before corners - for me it is not number of gear but just "mark" of corner so I know how fast should I get into it...

  • What is a crest?

  • horizont :)

  • i wanna know too

  • its like a hill u no its when the road rises up then goes back down like a really big bump if u no what i mean

  • A crest is a small hill, too small to jump, but big enough to see. Depending on your speed, you may be able to jump it though...

  • well the first explanation with FR/Jmp and stuff, is differnt than the translated ones..in first ones nubers mean intensity of the corner so 1= fast 2= slower etc.

  • Oh my bad, don't get confused with the notes, they are totally different from page-to-page.

    • From 0 - 10sec = What the actual notes look like (with the translation beneath it)

    • From 10sec - End = How the co-driver says the notes aloud. Layman's translation beneath it.

Yep, the numbers mean the intensity of the turn (and probably the gear you should take the corner at) but I think u wrote them backwards. Should be:

    2 = fast

    1 = slower

  • what is the instrument at the begining and where can u buy it ?

  • i think its a rally style trip meter

  • its called the corralba c giant probably the easiest trip to use.

  • dope as hell

  • good work thanks
