I soaked them in water, added lemon+lime juice, a little orange juice, mint, and some seltzer. You can also add a bit of sugar if you want. It is good as is, or you can take just the liquid on top. It tastes SOOO GOOOOOOOD but is slightly slimey.
Also, it's similar to the way that the Tarahumara native americans have it (w/ lime and mint only)
Thank you for this video! I will try your recipe soon it's a good idea! I also live in New Zealand (in the Bay of Islands) and wanted to ask you if you can get Chia seeds now in New Zealand. Was it difficult to import the seed?
@silencerainbows - Thanks for your interest. Yes, back when I started, it was very hard to import the seeds, many of my boxes got stopped by customs and they destroy it. Very expensive experience. But now all different - I saw them with Pak'n Save!
@SolarTim Thank you for your reply! That's good news to be able to buy them at Pak'n Save! So much easier than having to worry about importing them. Cheers!
anyone knwo where i can buy some chia seeds from canada? or online to deliver to canada? cheap? please help i want some chia poweerr ahah and my dad too
@shitsons where do you live? in toronto, warden and finch area you can buy 200grams for ~5$ which is a decent price i think, if you live elsewhere try bulk stores
@wryonlife yeah here in Mexico is very popular, despite its viscosity like mouth saliva have a very interesting taste... especially when it is mixed with lemon, sugar and very cold water regards
Though native to Central and South America, there's no reason to send to the US for them, seeing as your neighbor Australia is the world's largest producer.
Like any seed, chia has lots of protein (25%) dietary fiber and... FAT (30%), which, coincidentally, is why chia fresca can be satisfying and give you energy.
As ChiaNZ already pointed out, any of you who want to lose weight need to exercise and eat the right foods. There are no shortcuts.
If I were to make a glass of Chia Fresca the same size as the one you made in the video, should I pour approximately 2-3 teaspoons of Chia seeds into approximately 2 cups of water, then stir gently for approximately 5 minutes, then add the juice of choice to that mixture?
I would start with 2-3 teaspoons of Chia seeds on one cup of water, or one cup of juice. You can always take more or less Chia seeds next time - or mix water and juice. EVerything is possible, all comes down to your taste buds :-)

You wont get any of the nutrients from the seeds unless you grind them. Whole seeds just pass through your system. A few drops of oil keeps the seeds from sticking together, but, I guess thats more for cooking then for a fresca.
Hi wanlong89, Chia seeds keep you full for a very long time. If you have enough of them, you are able to eat less. This is true for having Chia in any form, as a drink or in your food, or seperately. Have them 10 minutes before a meal, this is what I find has the best effect.
Nevertheless, there is no magic pill that automatically reduces your weight. If you don't change your eating habits (= eating less), or exercise more (or both) then you will not lose weight.

I just tried it with apple juice. Tastes like apple juice with soft, gel-like seeds. Hope I don't die.

Hello Shitsons,
The best place I've found to buy chia seed in Canada is called SuperSeeds. You'll find it on the web with ease.
Have a nice day!

How about doing some research on the internet? :-)
I wasn't able to get them in New Zealand either, so I imported them from the US. Not sure if that's possible for you?
Cheers
