@wichrau alot of times the one working the christmas tree isn't there thry use arm drop or flags. At every track I have ever been at there are certain people that operate the christmas tree, I don't know maybe track owner rules since he owns track and equiptment.

Surfed on in just now when I saw the headlines about the "Max Wedges". I HAD to see THIS! Anyhow, I thought seeing these priceless old wedges being started by a flagdrop was totally cool. I'm in Tucson, Az, and definitely remember the old Tucson Dragway using the flag drops up until approx. '67. But I never saw a cute flag girl like we're seeing here. And she just passed away?? My God...she looks young on the vid. Pray tell....what happened? God rest her soul peacefully. Joel in Tucson

Anyways, yes, the flag girl passed away. She was indeed young (30) and passed away from complications from some medical issues. Definitely way too young to have left this world so soon.

No worries at all. I'm glad you enjoy our videos. There are a lot of realty cool memories from over the years posted on here. I hear ya on the purists. I've always felt that there's room for everyone in this hiobby and that people need to understand that and take that into consideration when they diss what someone else does. I guess you missed the point. These weren't races to see right down to the door handle who won. They were races done to entertain the folks who were at the 2006 Norwalk Chrysler Classic. Arm drop nostaligia racing is a very popular thing nowadays. By the way, the "flag chick" just passed away last week. R.I.P. Kim.
