Hello Docca3. Thank you for allowing my video in responce to yours. I recorded this after watching you some time ago. I am still practicing the rest of this group of songs, thanks to you, and maybe soon will have them posted on youtube. Keep posting good music.
what do you use to record? when i use my lapttop the sound would be touch much for it and would start to fuzz and vibrate and when i use digital camera it would have not enough bass
This is a very good performance,ye ok slightly out on the timing on certain parts but still very good, also a good sound u got out of that amp aswell.
WOW!!..I felt so good watching this. Thanks for that..One of my very favorite songs.Neil Peart is so good. You nailed it man,the lead, the tone, just f*cking awesome!!
well done....other that timing and during the chorus of Temples of Syrinx...use the F# over the Bminor when playin that power chord. It adds lotsa gumph!!!
The studio LP is way different than any live version and is the one I prefer. When playing the chorus go to the B second fret after the riff. You can hear how Lifeson does it if you listen closely. It flows much easier as well.
What you see on stage and what you hear in the studio are totally different.
Two famous cases - Hendrix and Page.
One thing I love about this period of Rush is EVH hadn't come along yet to force everyone to be super technical. Lifeson played standard blues licks ala Page.
I think it's because I run the audio output from my laptop thru my amp to hear it (no separate speakers) and because the two tracks then come from the same position, they get mixed up in my head. Ideally, I need the backing track to come from a separate set of speakers - I can then hear it properly!
Nicely done! I'll be adding this one as soon as I figure out the "William Tell Overture" part. You know, the nuh nuh nuh-nuh, nuh nuh nuh-nuh, nuh nuh nunt, nuh nuh ;)
man, i have trouble with that paert too. maybe i'll print out your little nuh nuh nuh and get it right...LOL!!! i recently tried playing it in the higher position like in this video, but i guess i just need to pick one and just get it right. alex plays it same as this guy.
Ta very much - this is recordeddirect from my effects block (Korg AX1500G) with Classic Drive and modern 4x12 cab settings, occaisional Orange phaser.
Happy 2112 day! 2-1-12!
Rush cover = awesomeness.

Loved it. Is that a studio? Going to midi on the lead is little weird, but I like I do like it. Its your original thing :)

Rush4Life70494 4 years ago
never really considered myself good enough to do lessons :-S but I'm getting better, so maybe some time
Docca3 4 years ago
ok, you can obviously play the song, but it seems like you dont have the timing donw 100%
are you planning on making another video of this song?
lobsterboy80 4 years ago
well - I may do when I've reviewed some others. Got other plans at the minute though
Docca3 4 years ago
yes. agreed. Timing is an issue.Isit just cause you are playing loud and your cues arent audible? EVerything else seems in place. Nice tone.
