Jeannette Bayardelle also did a fantasitc job doing Celie in chicago. It was the best performance I had ever saw. Just amazing!!!!!

LaChanze brings a professionalism and flawlessness to the role and Fantasia brings some raw emotion to it. They both bring different things to the role so the show can be explored in different ways. They are both extremely talented and both shine in the role. Let them be.

I cosign with you 100% Fantasia has the wrong type of voice for Broadway and she can't act that kind of role. Too many talented people are being passed over in favor of celebrities! Sure she'll put butts on seats but the integrity and credability of our profession is being tainted. Keep up the fight though and break a leg at all your auditions!!!

I am a die hard Fantasia fan and am looking forward to seeing her in the play in May.  Lachanze is a great singer I like her voice. But Fantasia is a great singer as well and deserves the chance like everyone else. She did not ask for the role it was offered to her. That is not her fault. When I asked if you had seen it, I was referring to Fantasia's performance as you have judged her without the benefit of seeing her.

Actually I have seen fantasia Sing i'm here (from the color purple) ANd as a person who is in training to be on broadway. I will just say to make a long debate short....her voice does not fit the part either.....SORRY!

Personally, I am happy someone took a chance on her because from the preliminary reviews from folk who said they did not like her at first, are overwhelmingly favorable. Trained or not some people are simply blessed with the natural talent. I can't wait to see her. I wish you good blessing in your endeavors on Broadway.
