  • Loved it :)

  • If you like self-indulgent nonsense, you'll love El Topo.

  • As insane as it is brilliant, i fucking love this movie.

  • i wanna now the name of the first song of this trailer please

  • @Nelshoot69 "The desert is a circle"

Is part of the El Topo soundtrack, not sure if you can find only the song, the only way i found it was by searching for the hole soundtrack

  • Is that Orson Welles narrating? lol

  • jodorowsky is making a new film! xD he just tweeted he's writing the script

  • @greedyhips22 Actually, he has been trying to make new films for years. His next film, The Dance of Reality (La Danza de la Realidad) is going to be released this year, and as soon as he finishes TDoR, he will begin shooting the sequel of El Topo, called Abel Caín

  • El Topo and The Holy Mountain are CLASSIC Illuministic films, I gets no more IN YOUR FACE than these movies. America was so blind to the up front symbolism.

  • is the film full here on youtube?Jodorowsky, I Discovered it through his son and a friend [///but i was very impacted by....@El muro del silencio@ where BRontis acts, .....Realmente esta PElicula e HIstoria es una JOya[ del BIzarrismo, wash, tremenda, no entiendo muy BIen el FInal pero definivamente de lo mas EXtrano q e visto, la Coincidecnia con BUneul y JOdorosky por parte del Director y ACtor es INteresantisisma, solo Yo e visto esto o q? anyone here seen it?

  • Definitely love his stuff or hate it...I love it, what a body of work! El Topo is no Holy Mountain...the best metaphysical "road" movie ever.

  • senseless drivel tagged with the snob speak term "film".

  • Whips in some snenes I did sight in Clint Eastwood's High Plain drifter(1973). A quesntion im my head, will be influence or not.

  • El bonkerco classico

  • this trailer was silly/shitty, but i still wanna see the movie

  • If you don't understand surrealism, then get off.

  • @liammateer yeah, dude you are totally spot on about the nephilim and fallen "angels" and shit. I know about that. But I'm pretty sure Christianity as well as Judaism is a by-product of the mystery religions. I mean, that's what this film says.

  • El topo is not a religious film. It contains all religions 1:06 eehm ok :)

  • You know, if you read/study a lot about the history of religion, spirituality, Christianity, and the occult, you would understand what this film is really about...

  • @slangshotstudios sound like you studied. i would like you to tell me part of your knowledge please.

  • @OldSchoolRapNigga I don't have the energy, time, nor do I care enough to illuminate you on such shit. If you want to know, then read material about the Mystery religions and schools, how Christianity and the Christ figure originated from prior philosophies of Egypt, Muslim, Greece, Rome, Persia, among others. How we are all being branded with the eye in the pyramid.

  • The gun fights were cool but otherwise it's a pretty boring movie.. If you want to see a crazy movie watch Alexandro's ''The Holy Mountain'', that movie changed my life

  • @Morgethein Very true its why i found the film sad and disgusting at times, and then i realized its not the film its the world that makes me feel like that. I guess its hard to face reality but come on guns didnt need to exist why not peace and just enjoying life it makes so much more sense. My opinion dosnt change about guns, but that dosent change that this is a good movie.

  • its an allegorical film, and its pretty real, however its so real that its disgusting. and at the same time beautiful in some parts. A real film not like movies today. only thing i didnt like was the sandy western setting i would have picked a more tropical setting but then thoe whole movie would hav to change i guess. and i hate guns.

  • There are real animals? what I meant is that they show Gore

animals, beyond that they are real or not. My english is awful to, i speak spanish. Thanks for replying!!

  • Why the animals?! I fucking hate it when animals are killed on movies, is so unnecessary...

  • @pabsx87 he buy the animas with a butcher, the animas was sick so they gonna kill the animas and go to the garbage anyway, sorry for the bad english

  • Faded

  • going to get really fucking high and watch this shit saturday fuck yeahh

  • WTF did i just see

  • When he describes what El Topo is it sounds like what Breaking Bad is. That show is effin ludacris and the first episode of season 4 is named El Topo. This movie looks interesting and if you havn't seen Breaking Bad, please do so,

  • EL TOPO IS , el topo is ... god damage where is the plot in this trailer ?? i don't get it ...

  • @skubaro All I can tell you is that "el topo" is Spanish for "the mole", and they explain why they call the film El Topo in a voice over at the start of the picture. That and they give away what happens to the protagonist in the trailer, but you have to know who the protagonist is to have the movie spoiled for you.

  • @skubaro it's not a linear film / plot. it's epic. beyond any plot. spiritual journey would be a better definition.

  • hAM, HAM HAM HAMM,sweet virginia ham***hams , can you taste the hams. no, no you cannot because you lack the site of their wishes. only I can taste them. All of them. so sweet and full of malice?>$ the best you could ever hope for is to shuck them, a miserable ham shucker, HAM SHUCKER!!! you must let the ham pass through you, only absorb it's deviling, then pass it on to the under-gods of lushes bad meets. Sheffielder

  • A truely unique film with some stunning imagery, multiple viewings are essential.

  • Probably one of the most fucked up and strangest movies of all time!

  • very strange movie but I love it!

  • Man Alexandro is one crazy motherfucker. Thats why I love him for what he does. He goes beyond the normal circumstances and thats what seperates him from other directors

  • amazing, Alejandro Jodorowsky at his best ... then again when isn't he? minus the rainbow thief, and tusk (which were mainly directed for financial purposes, and he was guided by the producers and such).

  • @HorrorCinephile Too bad about Dune though. Wonder how that would've turned out ?

  • @Skulldini i can only imagine how amazing it could have been. Lynch although i love MOST of his work, really made a piece of garbage after taking over the project.

im just upset that jodorowsky has so much trouble now finding funding for his films, i would have loved to see Able & Cain come full cirlce.

  • I finally saw this movie two night ago. Very good movie.

  • i got here from a Cult of Dom Keller music video.....never even heard of this director but sure looks interesting !

  • freaks and midgets funny it was john lennons favorite movie

  • @limabeing It was actually John himself who promoted the film and got it out of the "underground movie" status and into the public eye. Here's some more trivia: Peter Gabriel, former Genesis vocalist, was inspired to create the famous concept album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" after watching El Topo :)

  • I really wish they still made trailers with the announcer making blanket statements like this one does.

  • I'm not the brightest film critic, but I believe the man and the mole represent humanity. Digging for comfort, and seeking truth, but not being able to handle or enjoy it. I think people tell themselves that this film is simply 'trippy' because the statements it actually makes about humanity, love, and religion, are too brutally honest for anyone who wants to try and enjoy life to admit or think about..

  • @AMpufnstuf

Are you sure it isn't because the there's no coherent story, character motivation, or knowledge of video technique? It's not brutally honest, it's the serious dick stroking of an unstable man. Anyone who exploits his child (because the naked boy is Jodorowsky's son) by hvaing him needlessly naked for the the first half of the movie is a seriously damaged person.

  • @cheesus948 There is plenty said in this film, did you not watch it until the end? I'd rather not spoil the story for anyone here. He is exploiting his son because he was naked at the age of two on film? At least he didn't exploit the audience and put your fat dorky ass up on stage.

  • @cheesus948 Can you define the word exploitation?

any real artist exploit the reality to create a new one....it could be actors, myths, history....etc

  • @Apoliteia Well, regarding MOVIES, it used to mean basicaly any flick featuring alot of sex , violence and controversial subject matter. But they dont use that term much TODAY, .. now that we have that stuff in regular mainstream movies and all over television .

  • El Topo is Occultic

  • AKA The Dark Tower movie

  • If I tried to ascertain any real symbolism from this film I would be sectioned

  • its symbolic, like the stories of the bible, surrealistic, its the weirdest shit ever, but its good.

  • @Sayhijack verda

  • @Sayhijack at least jorodowsly is creative....he explode reality and creates new connections

  • "El Topo Makes Red Dead Redemption look like Back To The Future part III"

    -says drunk vomiting in alley.

  • I really wish Jodorosky's DUNE could have been made... That sounded like it would have been mindblowing.

  • @Stigmatainmypants Yeah. And Dali (the painter) would've played the part of the Emperor...

  • @demokratorkodo With a soundtrack by PINK FLOYD! There was a really great article about the project in an issue of EMPIRE magazine about a year or so ago....All of the talent involved in that project.... It was really something.

  • Masterpiece.

  • See on YouTube the surreal shorts "Vigilancia" and "El espantapájaros", directed by Gonzalo Zona. They´re awesome!

  • This film turns 40 this year! :)

  • el topo could be a Russ Meyer film ;)

  • This movie is what made me a man.

  • too weird to understand all i get is the bandits at the beginning were depicted as "animals" as the goats/pigs ran from the hut - the rest, a blur

  • At least it's not misleading like the

    movie Catfish

  • 'it is sexual'

  • Seem it looks interesting and coherent, then you watch it.

  • is there anything el topo isn't?

  • @tarikwasthere easy to understand

  • "Ehl Toupou"??? Why not "The Gopher"?? :-S

  • @nephsam it's "El topo" ¬¬ and Jodorowsky is Chilean so he speaks Spanish ¬¬... VIVA CHILE CTM!!! y Alejandro Jodorowsky! :D

  • @thisIsNotReallyAname: I know who he is, please! And I speak Spanish also!

I'm not criticizing Alexandro, I'm criticizing the use of Spaniglish (and actually, "The Mole" is the actual translation) or the misuse of names/nicknames in English (if they translated it, it'd make more sense to the English-speaking audience)... That's my opinion, anyway...

  • @nephsam *Alejandro please. Not "Alexandro"...if you know spanish you should use it in the correct way, if you don't u should use it in that way too.

  • @thisIsNotReallyAname: Ha ha! You're funny: 1) That's the way it's spelled in some of his movies, so I suppose he liked to spell it that way, I don't care, it's his name, he can do with it whatever he wants. 2) You're probably not Mexican, and pronounce my country's name "Meksico", like in English...

Saludos! :-)

  • @nephsam its actually "the mole" in english

  • Comment removed

  • @Invisiblepanda: You arrive late to this conversation! ;-))

Please read my second post (2 days ago, after thisIsNotReallyAname's first reply), you'll find something over there... ;-)

  • I'm not seeing how this was an inspiration to Suda 51 for No More Heroes, but hopefully I will after watching the actual movie.

  • All the movies Jodorosky does are mind fucks, especially The Holy Mountain.

  • this is THE nuttiest movie i have ever seen

  • the guys voice is terrible

  • @wherestheunity The voice reminds me of Dwight Schrute! xD

  • @Locormus2 hahahaha thats spot on

  • a good movie, but the trailer gives me the overwhelming suspicion that whoever made this movie was kind of a douche.

  • This reminds me of a dream i had where i was watching this movie.

  • This film fucks with my mind.

  • @BrotherClark09 then you need to ferment on it

  • el es el verdadero MESIAS! HAHAH

    es JESUS! HAHAHA

  • Hard to figure out what in bloody hell is going on here, but I suppose that's better than a trailer which lays everything out too blatantly.

  • @goback3spaces

You made an interesting & valid point! THANKS for your insightful & thoughtful comment!

  • @goback3spaces boy are you in for something..

  • oh my, this looks cool.

  • I love you Alejandro! Brilliant!!

  • This is the best crazy ass movie I have ever seen!!!

  • @powerhouse50 Have you seen his other film "The holy mountain"?
