You're right, but I'm sayin' this happens all the time. One song with full lyrics will be released, than one with partial will be released and they'll call it instrumental. Take "I've Been Watchin You" by Mona Raye, amoung others, for example.
Glad you agree. And you're right there are lots of songs with partial vocals and/or vocoder vocals that are listed as "instrumental". Such as: Twilight 22's "Electric Kingdom" has an "instrumental" version in which you still hear a vocoder (and some human vocals). But the should call it "vocoder version" "limited vocals", or "limited vocals w/vocoder", not "instrumental".
Captain Jack was from Houston, US. This record first came out on an smaller independent Grand Records and was later picked up by ALA - i have the 45 on Grand Records and the 12" on ALA

Well chorus is still vocals,!! So that still makes this vocal, not instrumental.

Rare is an understatement - more chance of finding 24 carrat gold rocking horse shit. The vocal sounds very familiar, who was Captain Jack?
