I Googled the name, "dr sankalp mittal" - this doctor is in India. As a lot of posters stated, old tools, no suction, etc - he's probably doing the best they can with what they have available there. I know in the US, it is NOT done this way. This dude is getting his jaw ripped open. I had all 4 pulled 9 days ago and it is NOT done this way. No jaw tissue was ravaged through, the only thing I have healing are the actual wisdom teeth sockets. Those in India that have to go through this - God Speed

I agree, this would result in an increased risk of infection. When I remove 3rd molars, it is much less traumatic. I notice he or she has no suction, it makes me wonder if they do not have rotary instrumentation. This method would have come in handy when I was in Haiti after the earthquake and I had limited resources but I would never use this method in a clinic with modern equipment. This dentist may have been doing the best he or she could with what they had at the time.
