Kids Faints At Chorus Concert

I think EVERY choir has somebody who passes out. It just happens. I think during my high school years 3 people passed out and one during competition, she fell backwards though and knocked the backdrop over. I've nearly passed out.

happened to me many times in primary school because they used to have us either standing up to long outside in the sun for assembly or in church standing up... don't they get kids get tired fast or not many eat heavy breakfast before coming to school ??& trust me i wasn't the only one fainting..

@sweetnessrenaify you can pass out when your standing up and locking your knees for too long. the blood pools in your lower legs so your body doesn't get proper blood and oxygen circulation to the brain (or something like that). It doesn't just happen to kids choir, it happens in the army aswell lol. standing in the heat will make it worse

I fainted in the hallway today. I'm in 8th grade. Everybody told me I was really pale. And i was walking down the hall, the next thing I knew mr. Oconnor and the rest of my teachers were picking me up and dragging me to the nurse. It was scary.

we had a girl in our church that used to faint. We were singing O Holy Night and when we got to the line "Fall on you Knees" she did!

@GodzGamerz nah people in choir mostly faint because they lock their knees. locking the knees cuts off the circulation to the leg. and that will cause you to faint/fall. lol and thats why some choir teachers tell us to slightly bend our knees :P

@MiszJojohotkiss Nope, locking your knees actually allows too much blood to enter your lower extremities, which results in less blood (and therefore oxygen) to the brain, which in turn causes the brain to shut down in order to protect itself. You are right about bending the knees. If you ever feel like you are about to faint, lie down and elevate your legs - this will allow for increased bloodflow to the brain.
