I know something in so cal where they have a team of racer that put duck tape on there car were talking bout lexus is300 and nissan maximas... IDK.. they said something about protect it from flying debris from 18 wheelers, and when they get to the race track they take the tape off.

That just what I heard.

Actually they just take some paint cleaner and rubbed it off, then they buffed it out to the max.
