And please help me, I’ve installed fumefx for 3ds max 2010, but I couldn’t activate it. When I generate request code it’ll say serials are in the clip board, I really don’t understand that . Can you please tell me where it is . or if you can please give me the serials for fumefx 1.2b . that’ll be really really helpful for me.
Thanks for the hints guys, I'll upgrade to windows if possible, will probably be better for special effects since it uses so much memory... lol well a lot more than 3d animation!!
Very nice effect! Little question : Is it normal that I cant really get nice spacing because my PC keeps crashing outta memory? When I lower it too much it crashes. I have 4Gig of RAM on windows XP. :S
@TheMotherbrain I think increasing your Paging File would help. Normally XP uses harddrive space when your ram is filed and swaps memory back and forth between the too. It uses a predefined portion of your harddrive as virtual memory. Depending on what your Paging file limits are, and your available hard drive space. That might help.
Lol, you know it costs $5000, 3500 for 3ds max and 1500 for the sitnisati plugin that allows you to do fire effects like these. I, on the other hand got it all for free :D yayyy pirating!
yes actually, buti know a few sites such as DHGATE . COM where you can get a real version of it for cheap... like maybe $500 - $1000. And then i intend to just get pirated versions of the plug-ins because its not really fair that they should charge for that even though they charge so much for the actual program. i know that its expensive to make and stuff, but how are newbies like ne supposed to afford that? if worst comes to worst, there's always pirating :) LOL
because people go on to use 3ds max to make millions for themselves (in some cases if they are good). im not sure if they care about a bunch of kids learning the ropes of 3d animation because they are not potential customers anyway, but the second you make one penny from it they will be on you. its probably safer to just use blender (free 3d animation software)
This stuff is so incredibly impressive to me, having learned 3-D modeling (just a bit) on the old Alias PowerAnimator.

Are you sure that you didn't just take some footage of real fire and edit it into the movie?!
Dog
doghundredhound 2 years ago
you know that doing that is harder than just rendering some fire with fumefx?
meeiulik 2 years ago
@doghundredhound
You can't control subtle nuances of real fire.

for using more than 4 gig of ram you have to have 64 bit operating system
so XP 64 bit can use more than 4 gig, you don't need vista or win 7
but if you want to upgrade DONT use vista... i had it and it sucked
use win7 it works very well

If you can't afford fumeFx, give Blender a try. It's got a smoke simulator in it now, so you can get some of the results of fumeFX.

Why isn't it fair? It's a different company that makes FumeFX.
It's like saying your car manufacturer should pay for your petrol.. well.. almost..

i guess you're right... but it's so expensive!
sampledmemories 3 years ago
Exactly, how the fuck do you justify 3500 for a 3D Modeling and Animation program? I know it's ultra-advanced, but come on.

Whole teams, though.
They buy 10,000 of 3DS Max.
I agree. It's not worth the money for a single developer.

"sitnisati"?
this is fumefx -.-
thehalflifedude 3 years ago
sitnisati comes with fumefx.
Its the pack you that comes with fumefx, afterburn, dreamscape, enlight, and scatterVL pro. So yes, "sitnisati" is correct.
