The first part of the lyrics (You know........flash of light) is Merlina talking about how the world would end and how sonic can't hope to beat her. and the second part ( my eyes............Face this day with me) is Sonic saying how he won't give up and trying to convince Merlina to Face the next day with him even though the world would end.

Yo Kpsla. This is the original version. Crush 40 covered it. Such is the way with many of Crush 40's Sonic-inspired songs. However they have a lot of good ones of their own.
