DB Schenker / EWS Millerhill Yard Traffic

Rumer has it that Millerhill and Mossend are closeing March/April.

All drivers at Millerhill will now sign on at the Waverly!

All traffic that needs to be split will be done at Carlisle or Doncaster/York. This comes from my oldmans mate whos a signalman at Millerhill.

hey mate i had heard that Millerhill maybe closing never knew about mossend tho its not going to be good if that stuff really does happen

Aye tell me bout it. Used to head out Millerhill all the time. Lived in Edinburgh for 25 years. In aviemore now. All wee get up is 66s and the 67 on the sleeper!!

Hardly any freight.

aye i was hoping for more freight to come these days but with the recession it now going the other way

i live not far from DRS elderslie and they have even stopped that at the moment

My mate was a driver for EWS Inverness, He was paid off at Xmas there. Bit due to ill health but theres no work. DRS have the Stobart tesco containers, Freightliner have the Cements, no rail mail any more. Only thing that keeps them going is the sleeper!!!!

yeahh its not a time to be a driver for sure! alot of the ews drivers been having there hours cut n stuff i heard

coal hoppers are only busy thing still get alot passing my station (hillington west)

i did see an ews engine pulling car freight on friday past kirknewton 1st time i had seen that

Im not really a modern railway man these days. More a steam fan now. Driver on the Strathspey now. Id rather much have a Duchess up Beatock!!!!!!!

yeah was in the morning just before the sleeper headed to polmadie around 9.30am i dont know its end location was carstairs bound

someone told me that car freight was coming back to scotland not long ago so i guess it is after what i saw

lol so it is! i been messing up with names that day was at ticket machine at haymarket and i thought the station near it was called newtoncraig hill i was going like wtf where is it then i seen the real name luckily on on a sign at the station Newcraighall hehe
