@the82spartans -ok about 1-2 years ago male passenger going thru TSA checkpoint with pipe bomb. Why did he have pipe bomb? Who knows, but he had and was caught. How about the hundreds of firearms, ammunition, knives ect. caught every year. Why did these people have them? Again, don't know . But they had them and were caught. As for dogs being better than humans, They obviously are a excellent layer of security, but I find it hard to imagine a dog patting someone down for a gun or knife.
