Thanks for posting this, I really love watching this video, your pantings (which I really like, they´re beautiful) and the music fits together perfectly.
I think it depends what you want to listen to at the time. I wouldn't go so far as to say "F Morrison" as the guy wrote the song in the first place (and wrote and performed many, many other truly great songs), but this is a pretty good version, and arguably better than the original. However, the ending a bit off, relatively speaking.
How is this better? This lady had the audacity to change the lyrics! Van wrote " A fantabulous night to make romance, 'neath the cover of OCTOBER skies". That conjures some great images, at least to me it does. This lady changes that lyric, what gall. I can't even make out what she says at this point in the song. Van wrote it, he meant it, he delivered it. It is not a bad version, it is okay. But I wouldn't venture to say that it is better than the composer's version.
It's different, but that doesn't mean it's automatically worse. Because it's different, I can see how some people would like it more than the original. It depends a lot on the type of overall feel and such that the listener really wants. Personally, I like the tone of the voice a bit more, it gives it a less earthy quality. But then again sometimes I'm in the mood for Morrison's style and voice. It depends on what I'm looking for at the time.
Nice! There's a very good version of this done by Dolores (Dave Stark Five and Dolores) on here. And there's a very unusual version of it done by RHCP!
