What firmware are you on? it doesnt work on 3.0 or 2.0 firmwares. Apple fixed it.

if he is on a 2.0 or 3.0 firmware, then most likely it was induced by the theme.

Apparently, they dont care if it's jailbroken. It's like installing Safari on a PC. "Oh you have Safari, we can't do anything about your computer now." I don't think they care too much but if you care alot about warrenty it's not worth risking. I think they usually will fix hardware issues, but if you brick it they won't help you. Either way you could restore it if the screen goes out or something like that.

First you need a jailbroken ipod touch or iphone. Then you have to install the program called SummerBoard(use installer). Open the program and scroll down to the text saying "hide icon labels". Turn that one on.
