I thought it was cool though. You're one of very few people I've seen with that guitar, it's probably the only "company" guitar I'd ever consider owning. I'm a straight up custom guy so trust me that's a big compliment haha.
this is fantastic sir. I love the violin like tone of the legacy. Tip of the hat to ya for actually learning this piece. Far better than most of the hacks on here trying to play music they dont fully understand.
Distortion and fudges asides, it reproduces the feeling of the original better than any other on youtube, everyone else tries to shred through it like a Herman Li guitar solo, and thats not how it is supposed to sound. Very well done!
Would you like to do this with me? Record "The Force" at a studio of your choosing at a date convienient to you and your friends six months to 18 months hence?
Hey there, I don't quite understand either of your last two comments, but I'll record anything with anyone who wants to do so! What's "The Force"? Send me an e-mail or private message. Thanks!
lol no thanks Dude ! i m french and its too far for me ^^. I already have to Wonderful Guitar. One Ibanez with EMG picks and One ESP 7 string with activ Emg 81.
dead... but, good for tryin'. my personal advice, be yourself, feel easy to play every single note, never thought it must be perfect or what so ever. anyway good try. ;)
That is funny. I am a guitar concertist, I play Bach's Lute Suites on the guitar and those sound perfect on the guitar because both the guitar and the lute are plucked instruments but the organ and electric guitar are quite different. Now, if you want to play something really amazing you can play the Double on the second lute suite, I am pretty sure it would sound great on your guitar, try it!!!
I've been working on one of the two-part inventions and that's hard enough. Check out Adam Fulara for Bach pieces played much cooler and better than I'll ever be able to.
When I was 16 and came up with this T&F arrangement, I thought the distorted guitar and the organ sounded quite similar. My ears were immature. Since then, the piece is a bit of a novelty that people seem to enjoy. Thanks for checking it out!
To me, the organ and guitar do sound very different, but I've always thought that toccatta en fugue would be great as a guitar composition, and here it is and it rocks.
Thanks for the comment. The reason it probably doesn't sound so great is that the sound is being recorded by the internal microphone in my iMac. It sounds better in person, I promise.
Yeah its a very hard piece. And he cant play it good... Some fals notes, some of them dies.. But not bad thoug. It's very hard I know :S I havent seen anybody plays it correct
That was one of the best perfomances of Toccata and Fuge that i've ever heard. Way to go, and kidding or not, it just wouldnt ROCK on the classic. Way to go, I ejoyed it much.
iv studied classical guitar for 15 years and i can say ur decently skilled, but what helped me was listening to Califonia Guitar Trio's version of this song, also my hands down favorite. Download that song and ull se what i mean
Dude, that is pretty good and I mean it. No criticism here. Classical music has to breathe and not have a strict tempo. Good perfomance. I applaude you.
Since I know they where simple mistakes, I can honestly say i liked it. If you have more Bach interpretations on electric quitar please feel free to post them.
Actually I enjoyed it...i enjoyed it a lot. I adore Bach and it sounds preety good...I loved that you did not forget the bass at the beginning of the fugue. I stopped at your video because it was the best around here by far, and i thought that i should ask something i would have wanted to ask everybody about the differences from the original song.
I watched a few of the videos of Toccata and Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach played on quitar. Why don't you try using some sheet music??? There are some mistakes in the song that you made repeatedly. It sounds cool...but it's not Bach. Listen to some classical quitars playing Bach. You could learn a few things.(I don't play quitar, i play the piano but i do have a few friends which are very good quitarists...some classical, some electric)
Yeah, I know there are mistakes and I could point every single one of them out if you were sitting in the same room as me. On top of that, I did the arrangement when I was 16 and haven't played it in a few years, so I was trying to remember the arrangement off the top of my head. Further, it's really not that big a deal to me. I was just doing a video response to someone else. It's YouTube, not auditions. :) Thanks for watching and commenting, though.
pretty good, but i think it would sound much better if you were to use a steady rhythm. it is way too choppy, and sounds like you are playing individual parts of the song.. if you listen to much bach u will notice he does not always play at a steady tempo, but it would sound better if you made the pieces flow more and connect the ideas.
this is the best ive ever herd this song on guitar besides me playing it u can perfect it u slow it down a little more and and let the notes ring out more and then it will be perfect
Amazing, man, simply amazing! You did it! :-D My computer at work wouldn't let me post comments this morning... it also made the images very laggy, but the sound came through perfectly, so obviously I was very curious to see how you handle the "tricky parts". Well, I'm impressed! Heh, at about 22 seconds into the video, you play that slowly rising diminished chord in exactly the opposite way I do: right hand first, then left. There's a lot of those small differences.. I like your approach.

the fugue sounds a lot better when you play it clean. Kinda hard to distinguish the bass notes with distortion.

very loud... to much noise on Bach's work... try to do this in a classical guitar
istuarti 5 years ago
I did try it on classical guitar, but it didn't ROCK! Just kidding. I don't think I can play it on a classical guitar, but I'll try.
I go back and forth on the distorted guitar issue. One justification is that organs can be just as noisy and hard to pick apart as a distorted guitar.
Thanks for checking out the video!
