Hi everyone.I recently posted my newest video of affirmations for 'activating the law of attraction,' spoken out loud to inspiring music. It's very powerful and effective. Just sit back and listen, or keep it on in the background, while you do other things. Best regards, - Eric Falcon
The narrator might be referring to the lioness' realization of her missed meal as the "more serious blow" which she suffered;
Or more likely, in this instance, I think the narrator may have 'projected' onto the lioness the *uniquely* human ability we posses to have our 'egos' hurt; which can feel like a "serious blow" to us;
While a lioness can have a 'pride', that's something entirely different than the unfortunate humanly 'pride', which leads to 'egotism', and which then eventually and inevitably results in self-consciousness and self-pity;
This observation by the narrator was just a minor portion, fortunately, of an otherwise excellent narration of this film clip.
Yes, that's a good observation about the word "pride."
It's odd that we have a word in the English language which has two totally different and nearly opposite meanings...merely depending upon what 'context' the word is being used in. "Pride" can either refer to a 'virture' or a 'vice', depending upon the context of usage.
On the one hand, pride can be an admirable, non-self-indulgent sense of esteem for one's appearance, abilities, or accomplishments, and is known as virtuous pride, greatness of soul, or magnanimity.
And on the other hand, the unfortunate kind of pride, the one that is viewed as a vice, is also known as vanity or vainglory. Vanity and vainglory involve self-indulgence and self-absorption...and are associated with a distorted or grossly exaggerated sense of oneself, which is not reflective of reality (i.e., "egotism").
2:34 *looks around* "Man, I'm glad no-one caught that on tape."

The zebra punked that lion. Now all the other lions will kick it out of the herd for being weak.

I'm sure the lioness wasn't hungry for much longer...
And the zebra, covered in blood, must have left a scent for other predators to hunt him down...
... and so, life goes on in the bush...

In the virtuous sense, pride can also refer to a high opinion of one's nation (national pride) and ethnicity (ethnic pride).
EricFalcon1 3 years ago
I know what "pride" is!
I'd counter claimed the implication that "pride" is always bad!
But yes you're right! Good observation!

Funny, I searched for "Winston Churchill Never Give In" and this video came up.
The zebra and the lion have a strong similarity to the Battle For Britain.
Thanks for posting.
