  • Im going on some kind of jurney like this next year.

How hard is it too make yourself understood in English there in Cambodia? Do most people speak some english there or will i have to learn afew basic words before i go there.? hehe.

  • learn a few basic words, but you'll find that especially in places like siem reap, the locals have reasonable english. its a beautiful country, enjoy

  • a few words here and there would make ppl there smile. khmer is very easy to pick up unlike it's neighboring country where the language is tonal. chumreap seur, sok-sa-buy, ah-kun

  • im going to cambodia, vietnam, thailand this year.. any recomendation for places to visit there???

  • For Cambodia, one of the biggest lake in the world Tonle Sap. Ancient temple, Kulan Mountain, Phnom Penh,....Northeast Cambodia waterfall... many more.

I hope other users from Thailand n Vietnam can recommend u some of their places. Enjoy ^_^

  • Visit Siem Reap (Angkor Wat and the many beautiful temples there). Ocean and white sands in Kompong Som. Visit the National Museum and Royal Palace on the waterfront in Phnom Penh. Shop at Psa Tmey, Russian Market, etc., Other advice: 1) DO NOT EAT RAW FOOD EXCEPT FOR FRUIT (PEEL!) 2) DRINK ONLY BOTTLED WATER. 3) Be cautious of your valuables; leave behind or take as little as possible on your day trip. 4) Take lots of photos! 5) Have an open mind and you'll have a trip to remember.

  • Good pics...Not so sure about the soundtrack!

  • dont try to understand the second music...

  • It is a beautiful country. Isn't it?,with freindly and smilling people. We should miss a chance to visit this country.

  • Wow, I'm Cambodian and I still haven't even been to the places you've been!! The place captured (5:43), that's where I wanna go next. Thanks for the beautiful scenaries!!!

  • how long were you there and how much did it cost

    great pictures

  • planning a trip there next month, is it safe ?

  • Brillaint! you really captured something there! great choice of backing music too.

  • pretty

  • I'm happy to see you lugging around your SLR. I'll be going there in December for three weeks - any advice for an SLR carrier? Any moisture problems? Did you feel unsafe with your camera? Do you have an online gallery of more of your photos? They're really amazing!

  • hey kahunna I recently got back from Cambodia meself- I can tell you to carry-on your gear, checkin just opens yourself for risk. If you have to check your gear: dont make it freakin obvious its a camera case. have like a small hard case that can fit in a duffel or something. but I lucked out no problems.

youll be going towards the tail end of the wet season so you might have some moisture issues. make sure you have a good cleaning kit (it gets dirty out there!) have fun!

  • i wanna go there now thanx for the great vid it has given me something to look forward to

  • The name of the Manu Chao song is Minha Galera. Enjoy!

  • By the way Michael.Great vidio:-))

  • i spent 2 months in cambodia in 2006, all i can say is go. such beautiful people and just by visiting and spending money you are helping them to get back on the road to recovery. SO GO SEE ENJOY,GOD SPEED CAMBODIA

  • Amen hudd001.Exactly true and your so right about so many of them being beautiful sweet people too. I fell in love with the khmer people of Cambodia too.More than I can put into words here.

  • thankyou for reply, best wishes ;)

  • @huddd001 very nice of you. Thanks

  • @huddd001

It's the West who fucked up and destroyed Cambodia, not Pol Pot. He came with WESTERN MARXIST IDEAS. And the Americans overthrew the Camputian monarchy and placed gen. Lon Nol to govern a puppet state. Now the West helps them to recover and become a puppet state again. What hypocrisy! God judge the West for all the evil they have done!

  • @koisumaz2000 it's Kampuchea you fucking tool, anyway what's your reply got to do with my original comment.

  • @koisumaz2000 Sorry, but Cambodia is a puppet state of China now...just as they have been for a long time...not the west. China supported and supplied Pol Pot with weapons, etc.. Currently, China is logging and taking resources from Cambodia and destroying and evicting village peoples so they can destroy forests by logging. Hun Sen's government allows China to do their destructive deeds. Please educate yourself.

  • I LIKE IT VERY MUCH

    ab thanks

  • Love the slides. I'll be there next year!! Still saving up some money:-)

  • nice vid and good music, you had a good time in cambodia i think! mui ...pi ...pai....lol this short cut is cool...need sopme adventure next time in cambodia? so watch my vids.

  • Hellokitty - lol...you're so silly. I wouldn't paint all White males the same, just I wouldn't paint all Asian females as prostitutes.

  • rent the dvd "human trafficing" , it resembles some of the things i saw american and european men doing in asia.

white daughters/wives/girl friends/mothers should know what their dads/sons/husbands are doing in asia.

worst part... there is so much political black male by the US and euro goverments, these men are rarely punished by the local authorities.

  • that was incredible!

  • Nice video! You had been to so many places in Cambodia. I feel as if I'm there traveling with you. Thanks for sharing!

  • Nice video, I really enjoy it.

  • Do you like of our country?

  • amazing

  • Nice video. Thanks for uploading it Michael.

Your video makes me want to toss away the luxury and join the smiley warm people.

  • tasteful? what are you talking about? white guys go to third world countries for one reason... women and children. The other reason being to humiliate that countru in reference to the wealth of the white nations.

  • well...most travelers we met in cambodia, incl. us, had none of your prejudices in mind. we seek the adventure of exploring different cultures and traveling light-weight thru unknown places. i think it's pretty ignorant to say exploitation of women & children is valid for all white guys traveling to 3rd world countries (while true for few sad western assholes). do some research and you will recognize that prostitution is traditionally embedded in asian cultures and directed 95% at asian males.

  • lol michael - you are blaming at asia males, typical white mal scape goating. 95%? did u pull that figure out of ur ass did you. you say few white males sexually exploit women a children? just a few michael?

check out United Nations stats. A million women and children are kidnapped EVERY year for sexually slavery. great majority for cauasian male clients in europe and america.

  • also michael... i have personally been to thailand and malaysia... crawlng with white guys lookng for sex... i don't think those little boys and girls, some only 5 years old were their adopted children.

the problem is so bad, if one walks about the city at night one can see these white guys shopping for sex everywhere. entire blocks dedicated to white tourists... little cildren walking up to white men and speaking English phrases "20 bucks" "me suck u, yummy, yummy"

  • Thank you so much for sharing your experience in Cambodia. Prejudices, regardless of what form, does hurt, but I hope you will get over it. I'm a Cambodian-American often received same prejudices when I travelled there 15 years ago to sponsor my older sister. On the other hand, it's hard to blame hellokitty2007 for his/her commments because that kind of exploitation has become epidemic, striping our people of their dignity and needed to be address.

  • it's also fairly ignorant to say that prostitution is "traditionally embedded in asian cultures", as if "the West" is free of patriarchy in that regard.

globalization breeds global sex trafficing. it so happens that white western males have the money to travel around the world.

  • @michaelewald1980

To retort a wrong prejudice with a wrong prejudice of your own, that's also pretty sad. Any country will have it's share of prostitution geared mainly towards locals, and that includes western countries. Traditionally embedded? Again, the same can be said for western countries too. It *is* the oldest occupation after all.

  • @nh4files

One would think that people would put aside their racial pride for the sake of so many victimized children.

Too much Hollywood movies does that to a race.

  • You forgot the lady boys, oo la la

  • Bravo, very well done. Such a well balance of respect for people and places.

  • What a beautiful, tasteful, and professional presentation. I am off to Siem Reap in July to volunteer. Thanks for the view.
