Actually nah for Neptune beats, Chads even said it himself, Pharell creates most of the main melodies, and Chad does some of the backup sounds and Chorus points. Pharell is the one with the "weird" style while Chad is the one that has all the crazy synthy space sound effects. Listen to Kennas albums, and listen to a neptunes beat, and you'll see what part Chad comes in. Honestly I prefer Chads style over Pharells tho, pharell is too bizarre sometimes.

The microkorg is commonly used by many producers because it's a rule of thumb (among alot of hiphop producers) that it's nice. Analog sound is one of the most highly sought after sounds. Again something that producers know. it's virtual analog, not real to life analog, which would be even hotter commodity.
