I agree with you magnoliacottage, people are so ignorant , such a bunch of imbeciles who have no idea what type of " training" and/or abuse these horses are going thru , some of these pictures are taken in countries notorious for their brutality with horses. Stupid imbecile women who finds romance in such pictures irritate me , give women a bad name

Friesians, in my opinion, are the most beautiful horses bred. Especially the new white color that they made. Absolutely beautiful. <3

Hmmm... you know that when a GOOD rider is using those bits, they are not cruel at all? Some horses need harsher bits to stay in check. At my barn there is a horse who needs a harsher bit, or else he does not behave. I tried riding him in a bitless and snaffle, and he took off bucking, and I fell hard on my head and neck. just keep that in mind. :)

Hope you realize that not all horses have "harsh" bits.

You can't even tell what bit they have because their mouths are closed.

They feel fine with bits.

That's how they were domesticated.

Horses are stunning no matter what you put on them.

Don't say something if you don't know what you're talking about.

You would know that every horse has a different bit.

And, in that case,some horses don't require harsh bits.

Oooh ignorance is bliss. Bits are only as harsh as the handler's hands. I would much rather see an advanced bit used by soft hands than see some moron yank on a bit less bridle thinking they are sparing their horse.

Hackamores and bit less bridles do not make up for the poor skill or a rider.
