@hhold This mandolin was made by Werner Deschler who mainly builds those mandolins for players in the south-west region of Germany and Switzerland. You can find an album with some nice pictures of this mandolin on my homepage mandoisland.de - instruments
@hhold This mandolin has been built by a German luthier Werner Deschler who is mainly building instruments in the region where I live, mostly for mandolin orchestra players.
I googled Bernado after watching his video on the Jazz Singer DVD and ran across your YouTube. How wonderful it is to be able to see some of the old time and all but forgotten talents of yesteryear. What a player he was! Kudos to your continuing his legacy.
Certainly a fine, fine video not only the playing and the music which is outstanding but working in the images of the flowers is just amazing -- put together so artistically as well. This is right at the very top for home videos. The mandolin has a wonderful tone -- the carved headstock is elogant -- I assume it is a bowl-back? Lovely.
This is beautiful...

Wonderful fluid playing. I wish I was a tenth as good! May I ask what make and gauge of strings you use? Many thanks

A lovely recording - the touch of reverb works really well. It is a very pretty tune and you really bring it to life - it sounds quite difficult too!

That mandolin has a gorgeous sound!! Of course, it takes the right person to make it song like you do, Michael!!!
