  • I do this song for Concert Band and Baritone has way to many ledger lines above the staff.

  • @n123ification I agree too many high A flats!....our band is marching to this so we play it every day and it grows on ya after a while.....and gets easier too! : )

  • @n123ification I can play the Euphonium part for this piece. It's only high Gs, As, and B flats

  • bleh im not doing band next year it wasnt as great as in swanson this year

  • Oh, yeah all states got cancelled this year. Bull.....

  • I played this at Honors Festival Concert 2011.

  • our band plays this, french horn all the way

  • some people cant double tounge

  • @princesspascall21, there is a lot of things wrong with being a ban geek. If your good at the sax for instance, u get the babes but not the deadly title of band dweeb. Ehhhh! Yeah son, bite that.

  • yea but when your out of tune it sucks *hint hint*

  • @Aleve909 what do u play?

  • Yeah stupid snow cancelled our concert, bummer.

  • @the ultimate kobra, heck yeah I've played first, my music teachers a coast guard band member, I'm pretty good at the sax. This song is cake end o story.... ban geek.

  • See you tomorrow, notoriousE :)

  • Our Honors Symphonic Band (Top Band) at Boerne Champion High School is playing this, and I play Baritone in it.. Sweet piece.

  • Nice job! Our high school concert band (sophomores) is playing this. Flutes are the best at our school too. ; )

  • Band geeks.... Psh.

Oh well we're playing this for Eastern regionals in Connecticut... I am a sax player, a really good one at that, and pshhh this song is cake..

  • @SuperNotoriousE Don't brag i bet you havent even seen the first alto sax part for this. i play 1st alto sax for this at my school and its hard, but fun so shut up

  • @SuperNotoriousE What's wrong with being a Band Geek son? lol

  • Who ever played first clarinet at this speed is god.

  • this piece of music was death for me.

  • wow this video takes forever to load

  • we are playing this in band I play bells :)

  • Our band is going to be playing this at Midwest. We were originally going to play Invictus, but we had too many difficult songs compared to our number of easier ones. While I prefer Invictus, I still think this is a cute little march. (: Except for the flute part from 1:40 on. It's difficult for me. DX But this band did an AMAZING job, very impressive! (:

  • Snare drummer using a bullwhip or hammer?

  • Wasn't this march dedicated to the Klaxon Horn company? I LOVE the busy off-beats in the trio and the build up at 1:30!

  • @ExcelsiorElectric yes it was, fillmore also made an instrument after it called the klaxaphone just for the march

  • Whoa :DDD Awesome!

  • we sightread this at all-state! :D

  • Playing this on flute at school now~ My friends and I were listening to a recording and the looking at the sheet music at the same time, and we looked at each other and said, "Flourish. We're not playing notes, we're just going to flourish." :D

  • @BandMadeMeDoThis Flutes Are AWESOME ! We sight read it in class =)

  • @PrincessTot1369 o wow Clarinets were good too with them hgh notes not normal and the low brass. CLARINETS!!!!!!!!!

  • @princesspascall21 nope , im sorry sara but flute are the awesome-est ! but i like rolling thunder the tuba and trombone parts ...

  • @PrincessTot1369 All flutes do is play high and loud except in marching band lol

  • @princesspascall21 mann shut up ! thats what PICCOLOS are for !

  • @PrincessTot1369 hi hi I got a new account yay me

  • playing it and you can actually hear out uffers

  • im playing this in band right now

  • im playing this song in my band class right now

  • i played this song my 7th grade year it was so much fun i play trumoet it was so much was espicaly wen u had 2 double tounge .... BRASS(FTW)

  • We played this for our spring concert last year, it was soo much fun, though I admit I cried a little when I first saw the music

  • I love this song, I played it for honor band on bassoon, which the music isn't all that hard. But are school band choose this song for our march, and I play flute for marching band...hard stuff, im section leader. And the clairnet section leader played this in honor band also...on his clarinet. So its not hard for him to play the song at all. But it is a fun song, but yea hard for woodwinds..

  • LOVED PLAYING THIS SONG IN BAND. Even tho the trumpets were heard the most during the song,..i have to agree that woodwinds was way harder for this song!

  • clarinets rule!!! the part for clarinet was so damn hard tho.

  • one load ass trio and break up strain. that solie is always supposed to be dramatically quiet and there is just too much brass at that point.

  • This is an awesome recording of this song my middle school is playing it for a CD recording

  • middle school?

  • we are playing this in our high school band i play f horn and i have the soli with the saxes

  • yea baritone part not bad

  • a few intonation problems but very well played

  • this piece is amazing i am playing this for sompetition

  • I recently played this at my high school conference's band festival. I was 2nd trombone (though I was easily capable of 1st). It is a very fun piece. The trombones really let it all out on this song.

  • As they do in most Henry Fillmore marches.

  • thats cool i love it its so cool

  • well i was in the all -state band and we played this it was so cool (I play baritone).

  • i play baritone too im going to the florida contests with this piece

  • Wow, my middle school played this...I still can't believe that we got sweepstakes. Also, on the trio, the saxes are louder then we played. We played it slower while marching.

  • Yeah they might need to cut down the sax part so you can here the horns better

  • hmmm i really like this song but the flutes and clarinets have ridiculously hard parts......i play 1st trombone and the stuff isnt too hard or high its just the speed that gets to me

  • Yeah OMG I am playing this in band (clarinet) and it was killing me. It took me a good 2 or 3 days to get it down of hard practicing because of the high notes and the speed. It's a clarinetists worse nightmare!

  • lol ... all soo true ... fun song ... i play clarinet also ... took me soo long to get the chromatics ..... very difficult but very fun at the same time ... very well played by this band too = ]

  • I'm having trauma looking at this right now in fact..like canadian said, it is a real pain in the groin to play as a clarinet...constant noodling nightmare.

  • this is good.. but i think there needs to be more dynamic contrastic betwee nthe different sections.. but the french horns sound really good.

  • the 2009 florida allstate middle school band is playing this song.

  • on the trio, the saxes play loud. When we played, the french horns stuck out.

  • Our band played this at pismo beach and got sweepstkes!

  • Eighth note runs in cut time *sigh* Good times....Chromatics! GO! :D

  • The klaxon sections for horns are marked 'mf', the softest in the piece; saxes too loud. Tempo is like a circus march, way too fast.

  • OMG My middle school is playing this!!! We got sweepstakes and music sweepstakes for playing this song at PISMO BEACH it was sooo much fun!!!!! :)

  • my middle school played this

  • The horns in the intro could've been a little louder, and that is not a criticism.

  • My high school playing this in a parade this year. It's memorized and I play 2nd Cornet (trumpet actually). It's SO much fun! I love this song.

  • wow, i finally found this song. it's been buggin me for a looooong time, i couldn't remember the name.

we use to play this for marching competitions (memorized), and we almost always got sweepstakes. i had the piccolo part...there was more black than white on the music sheet.

this song is a great challenge

  • I'm in junior high and this is the HARDEST song I've ever played especially since I have 1st clarinet. But geez, this is simply amazing, I can hardly play it marching time! =P

  • his song is freaking easy besides im playing trombone first part =-= and we are literaly doing this fast

  • well the brass parts r easy (except 4 first trumpets) but as i said. i'm 1st clarinet. *sigh*

Not the easiest thing in the world i tell you. compared 2 the brass, i feel like changing instruments.

  • YHS High School! Im in middle school and were playin this! But not as fast cause were marching it.

  • My high school played this my sophmore year.. I was on tenor sax, (we had the easy part) lol. You guys sound amazing though! Wow!

  • I remember playing this in junior high in 92, I played the clarinet. You guys sound really good.

  • I played bassoon on this, it was so much fun! You guys sound really good. : ]

  • played this with a professional group- fun and challenging- props to upper wws for that grueling countermelody in the last part.

  • i love this

i play the clarinet part at my all district event this year.the clarinet part it hard but so fun

    bravo

  • i love this piece. we didn't play it this fast this year. i play the french horn, and we added a few dynamics on the soli w/ saxes and our dynamics were big in it..like we would be too loud, then like...super soft. it was weird, but kinda cool soundin (: this band did good i think ;)

  • dang. i had to play this this year in a music festival, im in 7th grade clarinet. amazing.

  • Im playing this for a spring concert. I play the clarinet its a hard song to play. You did good on this peice = )

  • yeah, i saw the clarinet part, and it looked hard, made me happy i was a french horn (:

  • I'm playing the tuba part in my high school band and the rest of the band is kinda slowing us down on this song so we play it more like 4 minutes long instead of 2:50. But we do play it a little more enthusiastically than this version.

  • The "modern" marching drum is really distracting. This one time at band camp...Frederick Fennell was our gues conductor. SFA 1984. True Story.

  • wow, this is amazing! my band can't play this fast.......nice balance, great clarity of parts, and good job on keeping tempo

  • we did this as our march only slower cause we cant march that fast

  • I was amazed at the speed when I heard it. It's actually a bit fast for my taste. Yet, it's pretty clean even though it's fast.
