@dfa490 thank god, more people know that lol.. its sad how much of a non musician sid vicious was. He didnt play live or for the album. The few times he did do it live it failed.
@86RockandJock ok thats bullshit. there are a sum of good musicians that died in their twentys but that statements ridiculous becuz there are many musicians who are good and dont die of overdoses in their twentys.
@86RockandJock Bealtes, Black Sabbath, Buckethead, RHCP, Giles Corey, Radiohead I could go on and fucking on, None of the members in these bands have died and their all over there 20's.
I'm fucking sick of people saying this shit, Kurt Cobain was truly a musical genius and a misunderstood thinker, but because he died at the age of 27 does'nt change how great of a muscian he was.
@MrJayCudmore Never said i was a conspiracy theorist bro all i'm saying is that a hell of a lot of good musicians die in their 20's-Hendrix, Cobain, Ronnie Van Zant, Sid Vicious, even Buddy fucking Holly
@ANGELUSisWATCHING .....yep. Mhmm. *hahaha King of the Hill reference* I can't believe that I discovered him too late though. I was on this site basically about these indie bands and I found them. I was looking up this band called Wavves, with 2 V's, and the members there came from Jay Reatard before he passed. When I first heard this guy I was like "How is he this good?" to "Why did he have to die so soon?" It just sucks man
Jay Reatard was an amazing guy. He had his flaws, but don't we all? He's sorely missed. I'll never be able to relive hearing him playing this entire album live, but I'll never forget it.
@Daymoose I'm a super huge music fan, and I got a pretty heavy collection going on. I hope to one day acquire every record he ever made. That says a lot about how I feel, in regards to him and the music he made. I really wish I would've gotten a chance to see him play live. It's a tragic shame that he died so prematurely, but as the saying goes -- the good die young. It's not just a cliche.
can't believe he died. been listening to him for like 3 or 4 years, stopped for a bit, then looked him up to find that he died in his sleep from coke toxicity. sucks, RIP Jay Reatard
Nirvana posted his cover of "frances farmer..." on Facebook yesterday to commemorate him.
Hundreds (and I'm not exaggerating that number AT ALL) of people commented saying how they hadn't heart his music until [yesterday] and that they wish they could have sooner.
he may not have been GINORMOUSLY famous when he was alive, but I think in hindsight the world will realize what a gem we lost. RIP Jay. You truly deserve it. :(
@TheEzTV really ? what the fuck man he died from alachaol mixed with cocaine no one thinks your funny. its a choice of people to do what they want and for all you know he may have wanted to do suicide. fucking pathetic.
@johnstopacf Agreed,I'm not condoning his choice, but it was HIS choice and we can't be pissed at that, he gave us this great music so he owes us nothing.Rest In Peace Jay Reatard.Let's all do our best to keep this music alive and teach the younger generation that not all music is shit nowadays.
@linnybo245 sorry love with out die fast love hard we don't get the priviledge to be blessed by such tunes takes furious living to make this sort of impact
I was at the Electric Fetus, and I just happened to look at the back wall. This was the the first album to catch my eye. I have never heard anything from him or even about him before today. Its some really good music, its terrible he died. He was really talented and an exceptional song writer.
I love how awesome Jay's music is. I notice a lot of his songs have a lot of Husker Du influences. Sounds so good. Mostly because I think Bob Mould and Jay have the same style of guitar. Either way. Both really good.
Best love song I ever heard.
