@robaart it's really sad that people get their whole music "knowledge" from MTV, which is more of a dating channel for superficial dumb idiots. Today's music isn't shit at all. There has never been a wider range of musical styles than now. DON'T jugde today's music based on MTV and the likes. ffs!!
@chaton20 I wouldn't know, I have not watched MTV in sense around the time this song came out. Hell, I let TV go back when DvD's started getting more popular than Cassettes.
:P
It sucks that you had to see that dating crap on a Music station(orig. intent).
You make some good points though, so I'll go out on a limb here and take your word for it.
I understand your not saying literally everyone when you say people, there must be allot of clueless "Friday" lovers Via MTV. (Not The Cure BTW)
Now that's what I call music...an immense amount of passion complements the notes...great video too ( although "tonight tonight" is still their best ever video by far).
this song will ALWAYS be my favorite song in ever, it has been since the very first time i listened to it 10 yrs ago and more then likely til the day i die. this song means so much to me.
This is my go-to song when I'm feeling love, thoughtfulness, depression, and calmness. I usually end up hitting the replay button at least three more times.
Im truly in love with this song so much that i got a pretty big tattoo of the lyrics "travel the world traverse the skies your home is here within my heart" <3 What an amazing band... There is no other band compare to them not saying they are the best (in my opinion they are one of the best) But as in theres no one like them truely unique and well theres something magical about there lyrics :') <3
@BuletWitButerflyWngz agreed, the execution of the lyrics feels so honest also. How he says "immutable" and "calculable" is so soft and tender. unique voice.
ahaha is so fun, Im 20 years old, and i listened this song in a amv (anime music video) and then something clicked inside my brain... it was just like i remember something. Then my mom told me that she listened to smashing pumpkins when i was a newborn
I never knew music was this good when I was still 8 years old...at first, whenever I hear a song like this played on the radio...I just turned it off and mocked the song...but now that I'm 18...I just started to appreciate real and good music...I regret the fact that I wasn't able to enjoy this song during its popularity...
@nhadz16 I used to HATE the Pumpkins when I was a kid. My mom played them all the time and I couldn't stand it. When I turned 13, I fell in love with them. They are now my favorite band of all time ever. Such beautiful, interesting music.

To clarify things:
1.) The women in the video was Billy Corgan's girlfriend at the time, and who the song is written for
2.) The fat man is... AZAMOV!!! (from Borat moviefilm)
3.) And playing the guitar with a violin bow is still as awesome as it was in the 70s when zeppelin did it and the 90s when the pumpkins did it
