  • This is a beautiful piece of music and like Morningdew said, some people just don't have the appreciation for bagpipes, but it is incredible. Thank you for sharing.

  • I think John Barry would love this as well as us all.

  • THANK YOU!!!! I didn't know this existed until this moment. DWW is my all time favorite movie, the soundtrack probably my favorite as well. I'm a bagpiper and hearing the pipes do this music just leaves me speechless... thank you so much!

  • 3 people obviously have no soul, thanks for posting.

  • magic

  • just absolutely amazing :D

  • Last post didn't go thru'. I'll try this again. Someone has written a piece for veterans called "Hail to the Heroes" to the John Dunbar theme (also available here if you haven't heard it already). W/ bagpipes it has an even more military touch. I will sing that song next month a veterans' appreciation day in Boston using this CD for accompaniement. It's gonna be tremendous.

  • As it should be, the pipes must "rattle yer ancestors" and this does. Superb musicianship by the sons of The Greys...

  • john barry is playing this to the angels now.

  • awesome. thanks for posting! i dig the bag pipes. i have a version of Wicked Tinkers' "Amazing Grace" up. it is great too.

  • This is truly one of the best versions. Thank you so much for posting.

  • Heaven is waiting for you for the angels to hear your music R.I.P John Barry.

  • I agree with your comments.. A great sound. John Barry will be missed.

  • How anyone can call this instrument anything other than beautiful is totally beyond me

  • This is beautiful , the music ,the scenes where God brings out his Autumn paintbrushes. The bagpipes are beautiful,Amazing Grace was written for the bagpipe. This song makes me want to stand on a hill ,open my arms wide and breathe. BEAUTIFUL!

  • This is a truly AWESOME video & the song brought a tear to my eye

  • Possibly the most beautiful piece of music ever written.....John Barry was a genius .

  • R.I.P. John. thanks for your beautiful music.

  • John Barry is dead ...... With his death we lose one of the great composers of our century .... its innumerable subjects reached in many cases the title of Masterpieces ...Rest in peace!

  • i have always loved the sound of the pipes, not many instruments can carry feeling the way that a pipe can.

  • Bagpipes have always been under appreciated because most people associate them with sadness. which of course is NOT true. But once people in general hear the bagpipes they feel comfort, not sadness.

  • Here's to the Heroes!

  • Thanks for posting this and thanks for all the positive responses to this. There's a wee bit of Scotland in many nations as our culture has no boundaries.

    Mhhmmh... zero?

I'm not Scottish but every time I go up there it feels like I'm coming home.

One day I will move to Scotland.

  • you dont have to be from scotland to really appreciate the awsome beauty of the bagpipes ....haunting ..

  • love the sound of a orcestra (sorry the spelling) vs. bagpipes.i am not scottish butlstill my norwegian hart loves this truley a master piece

  • yes, indeed, i love the bagpipes and thie is an awesome and beautiful piece of art!"

  • Im not Scotish...but this is a truely beautiful music piece

The bagpipes can be a very inspirational uplifting instrument indeed, I love it

    5/5

  • I find bagpipes awesome to listen to. And this sweeping, romantic theme from the composer of several James Bond movies & the fantasy-romance

"Somewhere In Time" sounds so beautiful on any instrument.

  • proud to be scottish

  • Makes ma wee hert proud...nice video.

  • There are NO words with which to do this justice ............

  • Beautiful music. The bagpipes are very under-appreciated. Many people find them boring and horrid to listen to, but I find them relaxing and beautiful. I just don't understand some people! Though it might be a bit of my Scottish heritage showing through :]

  • @Morningdew1435 yeh man believe in heritage, its really powerfull ;), and yeh they are under-appreciated, i love bagpipes to, but i have nothing of scotish lol x)

  • @Morningdew1435 I find it shocking how anyone could not appreciate a fine bag-pipe song but then again My fathers line comes from Scotland. So I have a bit of heritage showing as well I guess lol

  • Dances with Wolves+Bagpipes=greatness!

  • each time i listen, i cry!!!

  • this is such a stunning piece... I love the original soundtrack, adore at least half of the work of the Dragoon Guards, so the two of them coming together in this piece is nearly like a dream come true..... absolutely brilliant!

  • whoever argues on the internet are twatts

  • what a song

  • superb

  • completely agree!

  • How is it that you do not like bagpipes. They are in my soul, the pictures were beyond beautiful and the pipes.. to steal a line " the pipes, the pipes, their calling me" thanks again

  • Beautiful music !!

  • UM VERDADEIRO SONHO , DIVINO !

  • Just a suggestion - if you're going to write something on the video - try to get the spelling right. "truly" not "truely" and "stirring" not "sturring". Also, "Taken from the album" not "took". It kind of spoils the mood when there's bad spelling/grammar to introduce the music. Such a beautiful song deserves a better setting.

  • wats speling got two do wit thiss. git a live

  • I have a life - and in my life I choose to learn how to spell. Obviously, in yours, either you can't be bothered, or you love sarcasm too much and are pretending to be dumb. So, "git a live" back at you, clown. The music is great and all I was saying is that you wouldn't want Opera introduced by a chav, innit? Too many people don't give a f**k about spelling - and it certainly shows when looking through comments on YouTube. You, on the other hand, are just a twatt.

  • ouch, hard to get happy after that one

  • Swordfishjoe, your comments about the spelling read so much better when listening to this piece of music at the same time. I have to agree, spelling is not entirely difficult. I would rather do that than attempt the b.pipes :-)

  • June 22nd - 13,093 views

  • this music touches my heart more than anything.

  • Beautiful song. Very inspirational!

  • This is one of those very few songs that give me goosebumps and send a shiver thrrough my body

  • Gobsmacking........beautiful.

  • where can i find a downloadable version? this song is just too beautiful to pass up.

  • I have found a downloadable version on iTunes. you dont need an ipod for it. I downloaded the whole album. HIGHLY recommoneded. The Album is done so well so simply with a very full sound. Never thought bagpipes and an orchestra would go so well together. Also recommoned listening to Amazing Grace on the same album,, hauntingly beautiful.

  • this is sooo much better than the original, simply beautiful

  • Gotta say, this sent shivers down my spine. Already converted to Spirit of the glen, cos i love Steve Balsamo singing Caledonia. But this just made me stop everything and absorb the haunting, hypnotic sound of the pipes. Thanks so much for it. Is this track on the same album as (Balsamo's) Caledonia. Must get it, whatever its on. The only thing i would say, made me so meloncholy, certainly didn't feel like my work out after that. Just wanted to snuggle up and drink cocoa. Divine... Bridget x

  • thanks for taking the time to write that one hell of a coment =)

  • @telbridget You do know Dougie Maclean wrote Caledonia?

  • @VenusInPisces I didn't know Maclean had written it. thanks 4 the info. It's a timeless song.x
