Looks like Youtube have now screwed up the 3d viewing for the parallel view option (with Loreo viewer) - it worked perfectly when I uploaded it, and for months afterwards, but now it's squeezed into a 4:3 window with the right hand view chopped off. Red-Green viewing sucks anyway, so it's better to watch this in 2d at full resolution. Look for the thumbnail of the boy's face for the 2d upload of this film.
It's hard for me to get a good 3D effect here with my specs. Could the 2 channels be overlayed too far apart? It looks better when I watch in cross-eyed mode, but man do my eyes hurt when I do that.
This is just amazing Nick - That theatre just looks packed full of people!
These guys are brilliant characters... I really bought into the bedazzled amazement of the little fella in the horn-rimmed glasses. Such an original take on this whole thing.
And as I've said - The animation is wonderful... The second the little kid comes out of the theatre, you just instantly see Cyclops in your mind's eye! Totally amazing!
You upload a parallel or cross-eyed view - 2 side-by-side images. Youtube assumes they are 4:3 so I added lette-rboxing - not black, that gets cut off automatically. Then you squeeze the pair into a 16:9 frame so it's distorted - I made it 1280 x 720 which is their HD standard. There are Youtube instructions but I get error when I try to post URL.
Then Youtube generates all the other views like Green-Magenta, Red-Cyan etc.
First, you need to shoot each frame twice. I made a sliding device, and moved my camera to the left and right for each frame.
StopMotionPro lets you take multiple shots of each frame and makes a folder for each sequence. You can view just one while animating, and you can see a side-by-side view to see both with a Loreo viewer.
I loaded them into TV Paint, made the frame twice as wide, and slid the left image to the left, the right to the right. Youtube makes diff 3d versions for you.

How did you make it 3D by combining the shots? What's involved? What software?
