@guitarforlif: I haven't used it too much, but it seems pretty good. HD500 is great for the money. You need to spend time with the parameters to get the shimmer right, but it can do a good job.
Michael, as always great cover. One suggestion, use the tremolo a little more during the sustainer part in the beginning to give it a little flavor. Also, have you ever played the outro solo that Edge played in some of the Zoo TV versions? I love that version.
Thx Ron. You're correct, I don't use the Tremelo enough. Haven't developed the right feel yet. Thx for the nudge. I need to go back and listen to Zoo TV. Thx!
Do you mean the sustainer at the beginning? I didn't use any shimmer in this song. The sustainer is a Fernandes and it's installed in the neck position of the guitar.
@U2GuitarTutorials No, no I get the sustainer, but i was wondering about shimmer effect....found out how to get one, line 6 verbzilla (octo setting)......but tnx 4 the answer anyway! :)
@tomiclav Also setting a delay like a DD-7 for the "modulate" setting works, as that's essentially what the Edge does - he's a huge user of modulated delays!
@tomiclav I was looking at getting the Verbzilla, but wouldn't you have to use it on a separate channel so you have your original sustain plus your Octave higher sustain playing in parallel?
Guitar with sustain > Overdrive > Modulated Delay > Channel A (Verbzilla > Amp) & Channel B (Amp).
@AidanandLucas: You might not have seen the full title or description. This version is using a '64 Vox. You can compare Part 1 with the Axe-Fx to Part 2 with the real amp.
:DDDDD Can you give me the tabs? Please!

@ogettings Ah, guess I was wrong, you don't need to split it up into two channels you can just add the verbzilla just before your amp. ;)

@tomiclav try the Strymon Bluesky... awesome shimmer effects in a pedal.

how do you get the shimmer effect?
TheSmellyClamato 1 year ago
@TheSmellyClamato: I use the multi-delay block into a low pass filter into a reverb block in parallel in the Axe-Fx Ultra.
