  • :DDDDD Can you give me the tabs? Please!

  • perfect sound!! same chords as in here without you by 3 doors down...

  • I think the guitar part of this song is realy easy.

  • What do you think of the octo reverb on the pod hd500 for shimmer?

  • @guitarforlif: I haven't used it too much, but it seems pretty good. HD500 is great for the money. You need to spend time with the parameters to get the shimmer right, but it can do a good job.

  • Michael, as always great cover. One suggestion, use the tremolo a little more during the sustainer part in the beginning to give it a little flavor. Also, have you ever played the outro solo that Edge played in some of the Zoo TV versions? I love that version.

Keep up the good work, Ron

  • @romeobravo78:

Thx Ron. You're correct, I don't use the Tremelo enough. Haven't developed the right feel yet. Thx for the nudge. I need to go back and listen to Zoo TV. Thx!

  • It a wonderfull video ! Is there a guitar pro version or a website to see the keybord ?

  • @jcabani59:

    Keyboard? Sorry, not following you.

  • wow beatufull... :D

  • @master4231:

    I think it's R&H if I recall correctly.

  • wat live version is that of wowy ??? i want is so badly its amazing :D :D

  • Your intro sounds just like 'The Sutherland Brothers' - 'Arms Of Mary'

    Enjoying your Edge guitar work,

    Cheers

  • what's that shimmering effect called? and is it avaliable as a stompbox?

  • @tomiclav :

Do you mean the sustainer at the beginning? I didn't use any shimmer in this song. The sustainer is a Fernandes and it's installed in the neck position of the guitar.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials No, no I get the sustainer, but i was wondering about shimmer effect....found out how to get one, line 6 verbzilla (octo setting)......but tnx 4 the answer anyway! :)

  • @tomiclav : oh, ok, sorry.

  • @tomiclav Also setting a delay like a DD-7 for the "modulate" setting works, as that's essentially what the Edge does - he's a huge user of modulated delays!

  • @tomiclav I was looking at getting the Verbzilla, but wouldn't you have to use it on a separate channel so you have your original sustain plus your Octave higher sustain playing in parallel?

Guitar with sustain > Overdrive > Modulated Delay > Channel A (Verbzilla > Amp) & Channel B (Amp).

  • @ogettings Ah, guess I was wrong, you don't need to split it up into two channels you can just add the verbzilla just before your amp. ;)

  • @tomiclav try the Strymon Bluesky... awesome shimmer effects in a pedal.

  • @LocrianGuy tnx, man!

  • Love the shimmer man, top stuff! Thanks for the tutorials too. Your tutorials are flawless

  • Just wanted to say your doing a brilliant job with these tutorials, keep the good work up and many thanks.

  • that's the top boost channel right?

  • Correct

  • Comment removed

  • I think this version sounds better than with the Axe.

  • fantastic! cant wait for the rest of this tutorial!

do you think you can get the same result with the ebow?

thinking of buying one and learn this song from you!

  • what sustainer are you using?

  • @AidanandLucas: See Part 3. Fernandes.

  • im not trying to insult you or anything but whats this video for?

  • @AidanandLucas: You might not have seen the full title or description. This version is using a '64 Vox. You can compare Part 1 with the Axe-Fx to Part 2 with the real amp.

  • how do you get the shimmer effect?

  • @TheSmellyClamato: I use the multi-delay block into a low pass filter into a reverb block in parallel in the Axe-Fx Ultra.

  • Incredible!

    Edge 2.0

  • This is amazing, even by your standards, hopefully Edge is taking notes carefully.

  • First viewer.. :D
