@primohomme Ho sentito dal vivo tutti suoi spettacoli á Parigi,confermo  per me Garanca ha la voce del soprano,non e mezzosotrano,ancora meno alto.Mi ricordo che 50 anni fa ALTI interpretavano Leonora,oggigiorno questo repertorio drammatico lo cantano.........soprani...Un giorno questa bellissima donna canterá come soprano...proprio come Monzon.Ciao.

@bodiloto same way there are varied types of soprano voices, there are many types for the mezzos too. She wouldn't have such a great career if she was fooling all the directors, auidences and managers in the world, pretending to be something she's not.

gorgeous voice, gorgeous woman. the newest one is giada amparan. much younger but also gorgeous looking and a great voice. her voice in carnegie hall filled the auditorium effortlessly. we are fortunate to have them both, one established, one coming up as a real dramatic mezzo.

@profimark i saw it in november. she was amazing. she's my favorite modern opera singer. There's nothing about her that isn't great. she did an amazing job. very impressive.

Why do people insist on comparing singers and decrying their use of the voice because it is not the same as X? All singer must sing with the voice they have they cannot sing it like X because X has a their own voice. Please stop these useless comparisons.

not exciting enough. she has a smooth, even instrument but no drama in the voice. listen to Cossoto's. it will knock you socks off.

I like the sound Elina's voice, but she seems to be holding back here. The voice is not as even through the range as I have heard her before. The Denyce Graves version of this has more bite.
