I used Stykz for like 1 month now and I still didn't knew that much about it. And this helped me. A LOT! And one more question. In your library, can you make folders? Like, put in one stick dudes, in another one background, in 3rd one items...?

Yes, that is true. The only set back is with Pivot you can use backgrounds. You can't do that with Stykz.

When I was using a PC, I used Pivot, but since I moved to a Mac, I have no choice but to use Stykz. It's not too different from Pivot and it's much more eye appealing. You can still use .stk files so that's nice. After using both programs, I'd say Stykz is a much better choice.

Personally I have both Stykz and Pivot but I generally prefer Pivot. Yes you can use Pivot sticks for your Stykz animation, but I found the feature useless as it was only compatible with Pivot 2 wheras I have Pivot 3. And saying that Pivot can't make complex animations is wrong. If you want to know what I'm talking about, just watch my newest vids! Anyway nice vid. Five stars!

@AfterShockPivot -almost every mac user has had to use a windows machine in their life at least once, either for school, or a friend or family member has one. i grew up with windows, switched to mac, then my grandfather gave me his old PC. so now i have both and i used Pivot extensively and now Stykz for only a short time. i can already tell you that Stykx is way better than Pivot

it's in the properties yo have to be in the whit tool select a segment and ther will be 2 check boxes one will say invisible and one will say static just check the static box and that segment will be static! took me a while too.... p.s. stykz is better

Stykz is massively better than Pivot - it's more flexible; much easier to use and has a development program that will soon add hugely interesting new features (see the official Stykz forum). It is easy to export either in movie format or as transparent pngs which then make it ideal for importing into other animation programs where sound and additional animations can be added.

They could have added them with a movie editor after the animation was made (such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker).

@Weegee1011 All macs come with iMovie, a complex video editing program. Mac users can export their Stykz videos, and open them up with iMovie, where they can simply drag sound files to the video. Windows users, however, must export their Stykz videos into a .gif file, and add sounds via Windows Movie Maker.

to 0.10 so it will go the same speed as stykz then add music butten and add you sound ( :

no, the mac version of pivot really sucks.

making things is very difficult without edit mode which they think is good, but it renders it so you cant even make a line not move, so whatever you make falls apart when you try to use it

How on Earth does it bug alot unless you do it wrong, the only bug I get is when I fill in the stick wrong and try to move a part, at that point its my fault, not a bug.

Styks is awful compared to pivot.

Making guns and stuff is alot harder and the tools aren't there. I tried it out for my self on my PC, and Pivot 3 is simply better :D

What do you mean this is great (not using it cause sadly it does not use pivot 3 stickfigures). Not only can you color different segments you can put them behind eachother...For instance...if one leg is red and the other is blue I can put the blue leg over the red....if it used pivot 3 stk figures I would use it quite frequenly

.... Its not the "Mac Version of pivot" as its available for windows as well. It Is DEFIANTLY an upgrade as it has the filling tool and it runs on 3 operating systems it's Proper good :)

What are you talking about? Stykz Is identical to Pivot in every way except that it has Poly Fill and you don't have to open a whole new window to create a figure AND it runs on Mac and Windows AND Linux....sounds like an upgrade to me.
