  • no this beat isnt stolen no

  • Nastradamus !

  • as i much as i like and respect EPMD they were never the greatest of lyricists. They got by because there production was tight! Eric Sermon for me has never been able to cut into a track!! His intentions r good and i like what he's sayin' but he has always needed more stamina and a wider range of vocabulary in my opinion, for what it's worth!!! Same old...just a different track!!!!

  • This song's got a wicked beat going on there. It's addicting.

  • One of the top ten most crankiness songs of all-time. And yes nas did use it and use the beginning of parish's verse in one of his. Top Ten Classic. Back then the singles usually wasn't the best song on the album .

  • Classic

the sample is from james brown people...

  • @autte James Brown's Funky People

  • Nastradamus.. I knew I had heard a similar beat before somewhere.

  • Probably one their best sampling jobs. The Beasties and Otis Reading. Who would of thought that would work?

  • @kingrob29 where do you insert james brown in this perfect picture?

  • Comment removed

  • @autte Oops forgot about that. However I did check whosampled shortly after I got your mesage.

  • @kingrob29 Please disregard the message I sent u before this one if it got thru. Thanks.

  • @theEdinero The JB's Monaurail. Check out whosampled for that or other songs.

  • @kingrob29 Thank's boss.

  • Do a spin grab my nuts n start taxin!

  • Opening sample is from Otis Redding's "Nobody Knows You (When You're Down and Out)".

This song is a testament to the power of bomb ass samples.

  • @petewizdom Word!

  • @petewizdom

Bobby Womack also performed that song.

  • @petewizdom wow i was randomly listening to otis redding's "dock of the bay" and suddenly had an urge to hear this song, think there was some subconscious shit going on there

  • @blargharm Oh. I call it a natural proclivity to funk and good music.

  • damn this beat is funky

  • oh so this is where nas got the idea from. wonder who epmd got this from?

  • It's The JB's Monaurail

Search here using this exact text

    It's Not The Express, It's Sauce's Monaurail

It was a bit of a funk tribute of Trans Euro Express by Kraftwerk

If you haven't heard that one you must.

Also Express by BT express was another

in the same ilk to check out.

  • riiight. trans europe express was what put afrika bambaataa and the zulu nation on the scene. that shit is twisted. thank god for the old school.
