The word "baptize" is a "transliterated" word. Therefor, the "meaning" of the word must be determined strictly by its "usage" in the context of the passage, e.g.(Mark 10:32-45) Here, Christ is speaking of his coming "baptism" into DEATH, in Jerusalem, via crucifixion. He affirms to the apostles, that they also would be "baptized" into DEATH, via martrydom, e.g. (Acts 12:2) And we know, historically, that all of the apostles were "martryed". How come all the people attacking Norm's teachings can't quote a Bible verse to support their faith. Odviously Norm is using the Bible to preach the truth, but those opposing him can't have a thorough discussion using the Word of God, they have to go to their ideologies which was taught by man in order to support their beliefs.

That is it. Water is physical.. and symbolic.

EVERYONE is baptized in the Holy Spirit or they are not at all.

Roman 6:1-11 Baptism into his death, burial and Resurrection. If this is spirit baptism were is the "likeness" of a death burial and Resurrection. In water baptism you die to sin and are buried (Immersed) and when you are brought back up out of the water that is a resurrection into a new life. Your old sinful self is dead. You no longer belong to the Devil, now you belong to Christ. Show me anywhere in the Scripture that the receiving of the Holy Spirit makes such a likeness.

Paul's use of the term baptized here does not refer to water baptism, which cannot save. Paul used the word here in a metaphorical manner to speak of being "immersed," or "placed into" Christ. The larger context refers to faith and to the spiritual miracle of union with Him in His death and resurrection, not to an outward ceremony. We are united to Christ through salvation. Positionally before God, we have put on Christ. Baptism is strictly a public symbol of our commitment to God.

Thanks for the Calvinistic denominational spin but how about you just stick with what the Bible says. You say its not water baptism but he Bible says we are sanctified with the "washing of water by the word" (Eph. 5:26; cf. Acts 22:16). Faith in the biblical sense is not a noun, but a verb. If I have faith in JC that is what makes me act on what I believe; i.e. after hearing the Word, I belive this is under the umbrella of faith in the direction of JC i.e unto, repent, confess, all of these ACTIONS which are all undr the umbrella of faith. I am not yet into Christ i.e put on until baptism. Excellent teaching Bro Norm keep up the boldness AMEN

Jesus said that whoever believes and is BAPTIZED is saved.... what does that mean??? its spiritual. spiritual baptism is this (one thing it is), it is the washing of sin and the time when the Spirit enters you and you are reborn.
