But - in most high-rise buildings, or hotels, it's a common practice for cultures to skip the 13th floor; mainly because 13 is considered an unlucky number, as that superstition has been held for a bit over a millenium. So they thought when they were building buildings (hehe) that they'll just skip from floor 12 straight to floor 14.. so that ghosts could not reside on the 13th floor, they'd have no place to call home.
@SPUNKYMUNKYIFYER Exactly. I just think it's funny that even though they try to act like there's no 13th floor, there is. I worked in a pretty modern office building that I was surprised had done that. I would've thought the superstition was antiquated. Apparently not! (Although this hotel is much older than the office bldg I worked in, so I wasn't all that surprised to find it here...;)
@Kiesha991 That's a good question! I didn't cover that in the video, but the little boy ghost said to haunt the 14th floor is thought to be the ghost a 3 yr old who's dad died in the late 19th century while the little boy and his family was staying at the hotel. (The boy didn't actually die there. But he lost his mom only a year later because it's said she died of a broken heart at her husband's passing. The boy is searching for the happiness he knew when his family was still alive maybe?)
@GhostlyObsessions You've got some good ears! I have listened and listened but can't hear anything. (But I don't have good ears so that's not surprising.) Glad you liked it!
Floor seven is also haunted..... Just not as much as 14
