How about a squarewave variable frequency function generator and a power MOSFET or power IGBT. Then switch the current on and off from a DC power supply through the primary. Then set the square wave signal generator to the resonant frequency of the secondary. This is a HF induction coil. To make it a true SSTC, put a capacitor either in parallel with the transistor or the primary coil, and pick the capacitance so the L of the primary and C of the cap make the resonance the same as the secondary.
