Actually, JK Gulley from Canada wrote it. At the time, he and John were doing a lot of collaborating and they did a number of performances, most notably Fireman's Kitchen in Hickory, NC. JK has written a lot of great songs.
I know this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I come back to listen to it, time and again. I wonder if John knew how metaphorical this song would be when he wrote it. He did write it, didn't he?
Beautiful. I sure wish that John Cowan had more music on here cause I really love his voice.
