You can buy them made for fire, With strings that are unflammable, the diabolo has a wick inside of it that makes it burn.

Since it's only a wick burning not the entire diabolo it's only gonna burn if you keep it in place. It's actally a very safe thing to do provided you know what you're doing.

It is very safe if you know what you are doing. My fire diabolo is a homemade one so it is made with rubber so even if it hits you it does not hurt.
