There is a plethora of literature to back up my claim, which is the truth, that celery has negative calories. I DO know digestion is a function so a VERY SMALL portion each 15 mins of protein or foods like you suggested will make u lose weight by forcing digestion to work, but not unlimited amounts of all foods u mentioned except celery.

Do you know how they come up with the calorie content of food? They burn it. They don't have someone eat it and register the amount the body absorbs. They burn the food and construct a figure based on the amount of time it burns. That doesn't take the human body's act of eating and digesting into account.

The last is where u study intensely the number of cals required by ur body (gender, age & current plus ideal & desired O_o BMI). @chade1983 That's not true for apples. A 250g apple has 40 calories. You'd get fat if you ate hundreds of apples per day. However, it's true for celery. Celery is the dieters best friend. It has approx 2 calories a stick & takes 6 cals to digest. You also mentioned peppers. They have positive effects in another way. It's not the amount of cals they have, but how they affect your body. Spices speed the metabolism. Empty a capsule & fill it with Cayenne pepper each meal to lose a tonne of weight!

If eat a 240g apple after ur USUAL snack, it won't help, just another 40 cals on top of cals u already ate. However, a SLIVER of an apple each 15 mins between usual crap diet will keep digestion running constantly, even a tiny cube of dried chicken works! Celery has 2 cals in a stick, but takes 6 to digest, so it IS 'magic' by more u eat, more u burn cals. An apple REPLACING junk food is great.

@chade1983 I have heard from numerous different people in my life (people who don't know each other) that some of this has to do with blood type. 0 blood types (I'm 0-) are apparently natural meat eaters. The softie in me hates what happens to animals before and inside abattoirs but the years I've spent as a vegetarian were really hard for me and I was so miserable. My best friend is an A blood type & is the happiest and healthiest in her whole life now that she's vegan.
@ShayLee0501 Women don't need protein like men do. A vegan diet for a woman should be beneficial. But men are not made like women. We have a larger muscle mass and we need more meat. Women can eat only veggies, it's fine for them, but not for men. Successful and healthy vegans are usually women. I also know few men who are healthy vegetarians (albeit not vegans, I've only met 1 vegan, my bf). Interestingly, not one of the healthy male vegetarians I've met have been an 0 blood type. So I agree with your point, but I think the blood type factor also fits. That seems to explain why the vegetarian community is largely female but the men I've met who are, don't have 0 blood types.

My nephew is a fire fighter and was a power lifter and body builds still. He was taking all sorts of supplements and we would have heated discussions about protein blah blah! He is in his early 20s and recently had a cardiac episode. He no ,longer takes any supplements and his doctors don't even want him to drnk coffee! Scary stuff!!

I grew up having girls tell me I was too skinny. Now I find myself with a fat stomach and have come to realize that when women (maybe men too) tell a man he is too skinny its a way to justify their own eating habits.

I am late in answering your question, I do apologize, but you can find young coconuts at Whole Foods, in many natural coop type grocery stores as well as in Asian Markets/Groceries (this is where they are priced the lowest too!).
Most of those raw food gurus are only in it for the money so that is why they have such big egos. The raw food scene has gotten too greedy in the last few years. Your approach is how it use to be in the raw food world and it is still the best approach.

Hi Johnny! There are 2 juicers I would recommend- which one you choose depends on how much time & money you have to juice.
My current fave is the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. As far as juicers go it is quick to both juice & clean. It is $262 new. However, the main drawback is that it leaves more pulp behind than most.
The other juicer I recommend is the Hurom (also in my store, costs more, $330) Will write more about this in my next comment, running out of room....!
So as for the Hurom I don't actually own one myself (yet, someday I hope to get one), but I've seen vids of it where they directly compare it to a juicer similar to the Breville and it is clear that it produces a lot more juice, leaving less pulp behind...and it is quicker too, even though they call it a 'slow juicer'!
The drawback on that one though is that you have to chop up your fruits and veggies into smaller pieces...the chute is much smaller than the Breville's..

Do you know how they come up with the calorie content of food? They burn it. They don't have someone eat it and register the amount the body absorbs. They burn the food and construct a figure based on the amount of time it burns. That doesn't take the human body's act of eating and digesting into account.

The last is where u study intensely the number of cals required by ur body (gender, age & current plus ideal & desired O_o BMI). @chade1983 That's not true for apples. A 250g apple has 40 calories. You'd get fat if you ate hundreds of apples per day. However, it's true for celery. Celery is the dieters best friend. It has approx 2 calories a stick & takes 6 cals to digest. You also mentioned peppers. They have positive effects in another way. It's not the amount of cals they have, but how they affect your body. Spices speed the metabolism. Empty a capsule & fill it with Cayenne pepper each meal to lose a tonne of weight!

@chade1983 My point to THIS comment is u can't cheat ur digestive system by eating tonnes of apples. If eat a 240g apple after ur USUAL snack, it won't help, just another 40 cals on top of cals u already ate. However, a SLIVER of an apple each 15 mins between usual crap diet will keep digestion running constantly, even a tiny cube of dried chicken works! Celery has 2 cals in a stick, but takes 6 to digest, so it IS 'magic' by more u eat, more u burn cals. An apple REPLACING junk food is great.

What he means is that very rarely, there are some foods that force your body to use more energy to digest them than they contain. @chade1983 I have heard from numerous different people in my life (people who don't know each other) that some of this has to do with blood type. 0 blood types (I'm 0-) are apparently natural meat eaters. The softie in me hates what happens to animals before and inside abattoirs but the years I've spent as a vegetarian were really hard for me and I was so miserable. My best friend is an A blood type & is the happiest and healthiest in her whole life now that she's vegan.

I also know few men who are healthy vegetarians (albeit not vegans, I've only met 1 vegan, my bf). Interestingly, not one of the healthy male vegetarians I've met have been an 0 blood type. I grew up having girls tell me I was too skinny. Now I find myself with a fat stomach and have come to realize that when women (maybe men too) tell a man he is too skinny its a way to justify their own eating habits.

I love your attitide, it's amazing! I too understand EXACTLY what you mean by FEELING the best you have ever felt while being thin and juicing. Juicing and eating well makes the body super effecient by slimming it down.

I am late in answering your question, I do apologize, but you can find young coconuts at Whole Foods, in many natural coop type grocery stores as well as in Asian Markets/Groceries (this is where they are priced the lowest too!).

Most of those raw food gurus are only in it for the money so that is why they have such big egos. The raw food scene has gotten too greedy in the last few years. Your approach is how it use to be in the raw food world and it is still the best approach.

I love your mixes, I make similar. Nice to see you shaking it up. I went to your juicer link. Dan, I need some Dan Man advice on buying a better juicer. What is one of the best ones you recommend, let's say within the 300-500 dollar range? I am looking to retain as much nutrients as possible during juicing. Hi Johnny! There are 2 juicers I would recommend- which one you choose depends on how much time & money you have to juice.
My current fave is the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite. As far as juicers go it is quick to both juice & clean. It is $262 new. However, the main drawback is that it leaves more pulp behind than most.
The other juicer I recommend is the Hurom (also in my store, costs more, $330) Will write more about this in my next comment, running out of room....!

So as for the Hurom I don't actually own one myself (yet, someday I hope to get one), but I've seen vids of it where they directly compare it to a juicer similar to the Breville and it is clear that it produces a lot more juice, leaving less pulp behind...and it is quicker too, even though they call it a 'slow juicer'!
The drawback on that one though is that you have to chop up your fruits and veggies into smaller pieces...the chute is much smaller than the Breville's..
so..the choice is yours!

Thank you for the recent love, light and advice! I can do my research now, was on your store earlier looking! Hey you know what would be a neat video? Not sure if you have done this but like a day in the life of Dan and document your diet to show us all the beautiful fruits and vegetables you eat in a day from juices to meals. I think it would be VERY inspiring, especialy for those who under or overeat. You are a healthy icon for all Dan! Thanks again for all that you do and all who you are.
